Here are my specs:
ASUS Z590-A MB
32GB - 3200mhz RAM 2x16
1TB SSD running the operating system and Page file (1TB Samsung 870 QVO)
2TB SSD running FS2020 (2TB Samsung 970 EVO plus NVMe M.2)
Nvidia RTX 3090 card 24GB
38TB of storage internal and USB external drives (not necessary for FS2020)
Pimax 8KX VR headset with new optical cable
I also ran a quick flight around the Seattle area and posted it to my FB page
All settings up on Ultra or highest they will go…playing on a Vizio 79" Flat screen 4K TV at 60mhz (this gives a 30mhz/FPS in FS2020)
Using Lasso free version to control what CPU and GPU power and use are
The screen res is 3840x2160 2D and in VR Render Scaling is 70% and everything set at Ultra or as high as it can go (except for Reflections which are set to off)
my Photogrammetry is set to on and the Rolling Cache is on with 20GB set on the system SSD drive.
My internet connection is 1.4Gbps through Xfinity (Comcast)
The cost for this system was $4288 and the cost of the Pimax is about $1800 for the full kit with lighthouses and hand controllers (hand controllers not needed for FS2020)
I will try to add the pics of the pages from FS2020 that match the statements above.
The only problem I see so far is that during view changes (from forward cockpit view to out the left of right window) the computer stutters for a second or two and then returns to the 30FPS and chugs on without problems…don’t know how to resolve this issue yet or if it can be resolved ever.
In FS2020 I am also running ORBX Seattle landmarks addon and have turned up the LoD for both terrain and objects to 6.00000 in the UserCFG.opt file…Nvidia Control panel has some changes also but not listed here.
I am completely happy with my FS2020 performance (no CTD’s yet) and the VR is as good as it can be for now…I highly recommend this killer setup to get a great experience with FS2020.
