FFB is a must for helicopters

It got up to 400 votes really quickly but has slowed down.

exactly. after flying helos in DCS world with FFB there’s absolutely no way to fly them in MSFS without feeling totally nerfed

Just finished putting together the DIY LaserWing FFB stick, have to use XPforce to get the FFB to work with MSFS.
Absolutely need native support for FFB yokes/sticks!
Hope this get addressed in the future of MSFS2020
Thanks

As I previously said, I mostly use AirForce Player for having some feedback from the trim. The other options (stall, landing, etc) aren’t interesting for me. Yesterday, creating a profile for the Beech 18, I discovered that if I disable any of these options:

Captura

… automatically trim feedback doesn’t work.

Anyone has detected this behavior too? Could it be a bug?

The only reason it didn’t get every vote from every player is simply because they don’t have FFB sticks. As the DIY community, VPForce, Simonic, and others get more devices out there this will be more and more popular. No-one ever goes back once they’ve had a quality FFB experience.

Asobo: This ~will~ explode. Why not be prepared for it and bake FFB in now?

six more votes and we get 666 …

Having bought the HF8 haptic seat, i’m astounded at the amount of data that is actually pouring out of msfs with the right tools… now if someone could actually redirect that telemetry to a nice FFB profile, that’d be nice.

I still own a Logitech G940 flight system with FFB which works with the airforce player addon.
So my questions are:

  • if addons like airforcePlayer manage to support FFB, why Asobo can’t do it yet?

With FS98 Microsoft created it’s own force feedback joystick (Sidewinder Force Feedback), which I own too but which has a gameport and can’t be used on USB - so Microsoft could do it again:

  • creating a new force feedback joystick or yoke and sell it together with the (re)introduction of force feedback support within it’s flight simulator. This really could pay off for Microsoft and make the community happy.

I’m convinced the only reason it’s not in there now is that the devs have never tried it. If you try good, accurate, force feedback, you’d never consider something finished until that was included.

$1100 and it still needs XPForce. c’mon microsoft! please do this natively

Yes, but cheaper than a Brunner so progress.

If Asobo is going to take this issue seriously though we need more than 660 votes.

Think it’s the ā€œwhen does this subject in the drivers seat start to pantā€, tbh.

But you can! Download XPForce for MSFS. I have the same joystick and fly always with FFB.

last time i tried it with my FF2 it didn’t work very well (last year). With latest update is there buffeting vibration when stalling? does changing the trim actually move the stick’s center position? Does the resistance increase with speed? does turbulence have any effect on the ffb? thanks!

I think we should also push hardware manufacturers to bring it back. Force feedback was taken away then they added a bunch of crap we didn’t need or asked for then hiked up the price while force feedback is no longer common. We need it back. When a hood yoke cost $500+ there’s no excuse for it not to had FFB
