A bit off topic, but yes… I know what you mean. In my times of R/C planes (and helicopter) I would have loved to do that, but it was too early. I remember trying a dreadful analogue wireless camera on my small helicopter and recorded a couple of crashes… ehm, flights, I mean. 
But the technology was simply not accessible back then, I’m talking of end of 90s, early 2000s. I got the very first electric helicopter ever seen in my town from US, the guy of the R/C shop I remember was mocking me for buying “a very expensive fan” since, for him, it would have never left the ground. No lithium batteries yet though, fly time was just a few minutes. Oh I spent a fortune on spare parts on that little thing good memories
