Right now, my yoke is a mashup of the MSSFB2 joystick and Saitek yoke. Now that my DIY rudder pedals is almost completed (still working on the whine. May have it figured out) I will start on a full DIY yoke using the same method of control as the pedals.
To answer your question about the overall feel. I think my rudder mimics a real aircraft much more accurately than a non-powered or bungie corded device. I learned to fly in St. Pete, FL where the wind always seemed to be gusting one way or the other depending on the time of day. This unit models that well. For the yoke, dialing in trim, and position based on trim or AP adds greatly to the realism. It’s like VR. Once you try it you can’t go back to pancake.
