Mine sounds super complicated but a simplified description is that I’m using gas springs as my variable resistance instead of a motor which actually does produce a pretty good analog. I just need to add a little but of tech to keep the yoke in the correct absolute position with the elevator so my travel isn’t screwed up with the sim compensating for it in frequently opposing directions. Your reasoning is the same as mine there really is no force feedback so to speak just varying levels of force required to move the yoke.
As you say still easier than a 172 or pa28/32, believe it or not never flown a 152 IRL🤷♂️. I also couldn’t do a off the shelf yoke again. Now if only I got to rudder pedals. Those are not quite as awkward as real ones are to use.
