Forum Tags: The Hows and Whys to Tagging Wishlists and Bug Reports

Why should I use tags and what is the benefit of using them?

Tags are really useful for finding topics of interest. As the original poster of a topic (OP), including them in your post significantly increases the chances that someone - like another forum user or the Microsoft / Asobo development team - can find a post that they are interested in.

They are particularly helpful when used in the Official Microsoft Flight Simulator > Wishlist and Bug Reporting Hub areas of the forum.

Since duplicate wishes and bugs are not allowed, a well-tagged post allows forum users like yourself to quickly search for similar topics to see if your wish or bug already exists.

In addition, if someone on Microsoft / Asobo development team is looking for specific criteria regarding a wish or bug (such as all bugs related to avionics in the airbus-a310), a well-tagged post makes it much more likely that they will find the right topic - including your bug report or wish!
After all, you do want your wish or bug to be seen by the developers, right? :slightly_smiling_face:

OK, so I understand why I should tag, but which tags should I use?

There are well over 1,000 available tags that you can choose from, so finding the right tags can be quite a daunting prospect. To make it easier, here is a list of the most common tags used in the Official Microsoft Flight Simulator > Wishlist and Bug Reporting Hub areas of the forum.

For convenience, they have been organized into categories, but feel free to mix-and-match from any category when adding them to your post in the ā€œoptional tagsā€ text box, as shown in the example screenshot below. Note that you do not need to add the tag names to either the title of your post, nor in the text of your post.

At a minimum, you should add the msfs-2024 or msfs-2020 tag, or both if your topic applies to both versions.
