I’ll start at the beginning.
I’ve moved house recently and when I had some time, I got my sim all set up again and installed updates for msfs and nvidia.
Immediately, no game ran for more than a few moments without a blue screen of death.
I uninstalled the video drivers and reinstalled the drivers from 10 August. All good. All games play fine.
MSFS however, stutters when playing. I checked the fps and it was trolling along at 15 fps.
Since I reinstalled the drivers, I realised that I hadn’t set the FPS with the nvidia controller. I set it to 30 and all was good. Until I left the flight planning menu and started flying, it went from 30 fps to 15 fps in a second, and stays there. in dev mode, is says the fps is limited by GPU, but the GPU set 30 as the fps max frame rate, not 15.
I suspect it’s somehow being applied “twice”. I no longer have two screens as I stole one for a different computer, other than that, it’s the same machine. It was working beautifully prior to the video driver updates. I was getting 50+fps in Ultra, but I didn’t like the temps the GPU was running (about 63 deg C), so I limited it to 30 fps. Now if only I could actually get 30.
I set my FPS at 30 via the nvidia panel. W
