With SU5. Start at an airport with 50 FPS, Great. Take off, fly around the airport and retune, it drops to 28 FPS. Restart the engine, 20 FPS, Take of 18 and the flight around the same airport 12 to 15 FPS.
When staying away from big airport, I can manage one flight. For the next time, re-start MSFS2024
What are your PC specs? And do you have ReBar off by chance?
I never touched the ReBar on motherboard or NVidia, so I assume they are on by defalt.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
64 GB
Nvidia RTX 4070-12GB
7.75 TB Storage
You mentioned FPS degradation. Do you have the Dev Mode monitoring window open during these flights? Maybe you are running out of VRAM and the sim has to use system DRAM to store and load textures. This can cause the kind of performance hit you describe, since VRAM is 10X faster than DRAM.
Thanks for the info. I will try to run in Dev Mode.
Another point with regards to FPS.
I use a three-monitor system, all three are the same models, LG-4K running at 60Hz. What I noticed is that not all three run at identical FPS. When the central monitor (I think, the only one that can be measured,) is above 20FPS the other two are keeping up un-noticably. When the FPS drops homeware below 20, there is a leg on both side views.
I also noticed that the graphics on the display panels, are running at a much lower FPS rate then the monitors general views.
Hi, I am flying MSFS 2020, so whatever I can say may have only limited value for you. My specs are Ryzen 7 7800 X3D, NVidia 4070 Super, 32 GByte RAM. Just as you do, I use 3 monitors, each running at a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
When I try to check FPS I leave Dev-Mode OFF and use NVidia Frame View, available from NVidia directly. Compared to the Flightsim Dev Mode it monitors FPS of all 3 monitors - plus CPU and GPU load and more.
I run MSFS with VSync ON and Max FPS set to 50% of monitor refresh rate, so 30 FPS. I also use DLSS 4. That setup leaves more then 50% of the CPU and GPU power to handle more than average demanding scenery and I get very stable frame rates, no matter whether it is London, New York or the place I live in.
Other than that I remember having had FPS problems in the past, created by some poorly programmed freeware scenery. When I deleted it, problems disappeared.
Maybe that gives you something to try. I wish you good luck.
