FrameGen OFF = 20-25% more "NON FRAMEGEN FPS" - FG ON drops NON FG FPS again by same amount

Brief description of the issue:

In my case, when turning FrameGen off in DX12, I get 25% more FPS (counted without doubling for FG). When turning FG on again in the menu, my standard MSFS FPS decreases about 25%. I used the MSFS Dev Mode with FPS counter on to check this.

So at at RW 25C EDDF, FG on I get 80FPS (without the FG count), with FG off I get directly 100FPS sitting at the RW25C. While flying around also.

Can somebody please test this also?

I get exactly the same thing mate. Never been able to figure out why.

Isn’t this to be expected? From my understanding, there’s a performance overhead to generate the extra frames. That overhead means less available resources for the non FG frames. You see a dip in real frame rates, but an overall improvement in the total frame rate. That’s why Nvidia never claimed that it would double the frame rate compared to without FG. The doubling claim is something that has been prevalent in the wild from other users. That’s only true if you compare the real and generated frames when FG is turned on.

It’s the extrem stutters which appear due a in my opinion over sensitive reaction of the sin when using your avionics displays or panel pop outs etc.

The coherentGTUIThread is spiking way to heavy and I have plenty of overhead.

I seem to get an exact doubling with FG. First pic shows FG OFF and second pic shows FG ON. Dev Mode Counter shows true FPS and Nvidia counter shows FG FPS:-
