Freelook pans by it self nonstop ... no control over view in cockpit

I cant use freelook view in MSFS. Every start of a new flight the freelook view in the airplane pans by it self down and keeps panning 360 degree full circle only to keep panning … continuously non stop.

Every time i press the mouse button to freelook the courser disapears but nothing happens. I have no control of freelook. I changed the mouse sensitivity to 100% due to another thread i saw in the forum about freelook not working. But my freelook pans by it self. Without any input. I restarted PC six times, changed mouse usb, changed all my flight peripherals (stick, throttle) USB connections … i have tried everything possible for three hours.

Still, every flight starts with the view in any plane with the panning freelook dropping to the floor and keep panning around and round slowly in the cockpit.

Can anyone please tell me what is wrong? Anyone else experienced this?

I’ve been reporting for months that cockpit Pan views assigned to a 2 month old original X box controller do exactly the same thing. Move on their own. In X plane the controller works perfectly.
Something seriously wrong here but who knows, given the shambolic state of most things, when this will be fixed. For now I can’t use the controller.

Hm. Assumingly you already did that, but I would unbind everything regarding freelook for each of your input devices and see if it’s still panning. If not, bind just one input (like rmb) hold or toggle and see if it works.
I’ve mine set to rmb hold and ONLY this.

Wow, i did not think of that :ok_hand:t2:.

I unbinded all of the view settings for my throttle and stick … and it stopped. It works now. Some strange conflict or something. This game amazes me everyday, new problem every week with this Alpha game. :joy:

@AndiWreckit THANK YOU!

Sounds like you had a view bound to a switch, or something else that was permanently being pressed.

Code 18 detected.

Glad it worked out for you!

I’ve had this and eventually tracked it down to the Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle.
Interestingly I had exactly the same issue with the Steam Edition of FSX so it’s definitely a hardware related thing and not an MSFS problem.
A press of button 6 (the joystick thing on the front) to reset the view stops the rotation which works for me as I don’t want to unbind that facility as I find it a useful way of changing cockpit views.

Yup, exactly that one @Black5305460, the Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle was the problem. Don´t really know why it decided to go hay-wire all of the sudden after nearly 10 months i been using it for flying in MSFS.

I went back and tracked down the issue and it was the throttle.

Thanx for the info, it might be useful for someone else finding him self with the same issue and searching the forum.

Glad to see you figured it out.

I had a similar thing with my new TrackIR. It just lifted the view up to the ceiling of the aircraft. I reinstalled TrackIR, removed it, redownloaded, restarted the sim over and over again. Couldn’t figure it out. Worked perfect in the TrackIR program but as soon as I loaded the sim and got into the airplane, view drifted straight up.

After an hour I happened to notice, my xBox controller was laying on the floor upside down with the sticks being depressed to the up position. Doh!
