Great work. i used to climb in Yosemite 50 years ago and know Mariposa well. I am a physician and toyed with the idea of being a GP up there but I did a sub-intership with the local family practitioner and his 80 hour work week cured me of the impulse!

Hey, tried to run it and does not show up maybe because I am using this helper to manage the community folder and your manifest cannot be read:

Don’t know what you did but first I would check if you have unzip the downloaded file.

A small hotfix v2.0.1 has just been released. Sorry for the multiple updates in a row.

  • Fix static aircraft at wrong position
  • Fix vegetation

I use the program Addon Linker that moves files in and out of the Community folder, probably not your software. Yes, my bad. Here it is. You have to put the extracted files into the Community folder for this program, from which links are created to the MS Community folder.

Anyway it works, nice detail including the wind sock.

You know, we are thousands using MSFS Addons Linker  And I don’t understand what you mean with “probably not your software” ?

For years, I zipped the whole scenery package to be easily downloadable from flightsim.to and each users have to unzip it wherever they have configured your MSFS Addons Linkers, then activate it via MSFS Addons Linker to have a link created in the MSFS Community.

You may already know that a spectacular-to-be scenery of the Yosemite Valley is expected to be released soon (check this post). One good piece of news leads to another, the developer Cli4D Designs, offered me the blender object of his Mariposa’s terminal FBO building. The community is awesome.

Few minutes later, the object was in the upcoming v4 of my freeware Mariposa. Some small things to add (100LL price update, new signs, fix static aircraft) and you will have the closest general aviation airfield to the wonderful Yosemite Valley.

Monitor frequency.

Take off from Mariposa, heading 040 for a 10 mins C172 flight, star by following the Merced River then enjoying the valley.

The sectional states you must be a minimum of 2,000 ft about the highest point within 2,000 feet of you. The famous valley itself, containing El Capitan and Half Dome, has a highest point of 8,800ft or so, so to be legal in the real world, you have to be over 10,000 ft.

This looks great! Thanks for making this! I also purchased the scenery from Orbx based on your effort for this airport. The marketing worked well. I’d rather have picked it up from the Marketplace but it doesn’t appear to be there yet. I’m in middle of a trip to all National parks of the United States and my next stop is Yosemite. These will both be excellent additions

Thank you !

Just to clarify as the sentence “The marketing worked well” looks like a trap  Cli4D, author of Yosemite Valley, offered for free the terminal/FBO building as he didn’t want to develop Mariposa airport. I though it’s a win-win setup and fair deal for the overall community! The least I can do to promote my freeware was to expose both of our work

I personally think that there’re more benefit for PC users to acquire product directly for the dev store or public market store compared to Market Place: more revenue reaches the developer (Patron is the best choice for Cli4D) and future product updates are definitely faster to get.

Some fair points. I like to buy from the market because I can stream it and the more money MS makes, the better and longer they’ll support the simulator.
