Great job, as usual… thank you very much
Just incredible. I now have a reason to get down to the north side of San Diego County in the sim!
Teaser. Getting close to the release… The static models by Jeremy U. are fantastic (thanks to him) and the number are the real one based at Ramona. For example, Tanker 122 for the Cal Fire C-130 Hercules.
Big news for Ramona fans! I’ve just pushed a massive v4.0.0 update. It brings a major overhaul to the Cal Fire Air Attack Base and replaces generic assets with custom-built scenery across the field.

What’s new in v4:
-
The Look: Say goodbye to the generic MSFS taxiway signs, everything is now handcrafted as real as it gets! Two sided signs and the real shape.
-
Cal Fire Action: The ramp is fully upgraded for the new Cal Fire C-130 Hercules and Helicopter S-70i, featuring also the new Phos Chek infrastructure (fire retardant).
-
Static Assets: A special thank you to Jeremy Ulloa for the incredible new static models: new S2T Airtanker (#70 and #71), C-130 Hercules Airtanker (#22), OV-10 Air Tactical (#330) and Sikorsky S-70i Firehawk (#609).
-
Polishing: Lots of love given to the Classic Rotors Museum, new entrance signage, lot of signs on fences landside, refined textures, holding point, and expanded starting positions to give you more variety on the ramp. You still have an opened hangar. And dozens of details you won’t even notice.
A Note on the Cal Fire Ramp: Please keep in mind that the real-world Cal Fire ramp work is actually still ongoing! This update is based on a mix of data shared by helpful locals (thanks!) and available internet content (for example this webcam). What you’ll find in this v4.0.0 update is almost “real-time” as the construction progresses, but I wanted to make sure simmers could enjoy the current progress immediately!
I hope you enjoy the new level of detail. Feedback is always welcome! Happy simflying!
Which specific area of the new Cal Fire ramp are you most excited to see the community test out first?

All taxiway signs have been customized. Now, you have real two-sided signs and the real shape:

I’m excited to spill retardant at the filling station, but we don’t have a good OV-10 model to fly ![]()
I would argue that the Azurpoly OV-10 is quite good. It even has a Cal Fire livery.
Whoa there thank you for the tip. I didn’t even know that option existed, and also had not heard of that developer. Shame on me..! Time to get the credit card out…
There’s a freeware Bronco at FS.to as well. I haven’t tried it yet in 2024.
The freeware Bronco is pretty good, but the Azurpoly version is worth the $ if you’re interested in the OV-10.
v4.1.0 is now available! What’s new? In addition, to some fixes and updates, the major addition is 2 batch files in the “vbcorp-airport-krnm-ramona” designed to manage static aircraft visibility.
- Static C130, S-2T and S70 Cal Fire aircraft removable via batch file (Toggle-Calfire-On-Off.bat)
- Static aircraft on parking spot or potentially overlapping Ai traffic removable via another batch file (Toggle-Static-On-Off.bat)
- Add 2x new static Van’s RV8
- Add Dr Pepper vending machine
- Fix T marking spot too bright
- Fix H Helipad too bright
- Fix Aeromechanix hangar sign
Purpose
The 2 .batch files (Toggle-Calfire-On-Off.bat and Toggle-Static-On-Off.bat) allow you to quickly toggle specific static aircraft on or off, helping to prevent conflicts with AI traffic at starting positions or simply to customize your ramp environment.
Example
(MSFS should not be started) If you want to remove the 3 Cal Fire aircraft (C130, S-2T and S70 helicopter) run once “Toggle-Calfire-On-Off.bat”. The batch will display a status “visible” or “not visible”. Relaunch it if you change you mind. Same for regular static other aircraft that could be on startup position for Ai traffic.
The Scripts
- Toggle-Calfire-On-Off.bat:
- Manages the visibility of the three Cal Fire assets located on the main Cal Fire ramp (positions 1, 2, and 3):
- C130
- S-2T
- S70 Helicopter
- Manages the visibility of the three Cal Fire assets located on the main Cal Fire ramp (positions 1, 2, and 3):
- Toggle-Static-On-Off.bat:
- Manages static aircraft located at MSFS starting positions.
- Note: This does not remove all static aircraft in the scenery; it specifically targets aircraft that may occupy an MSFS AI Traffic starting position.
Instructions
- Close MSFS: Ensure Microsoft Flight Simulator is completely shut down before running these scripts.
- Execute: Locate the script in your scenery folder and launch/double-click it.
- If the static aircraft are currently active (.bgl), they will be deactivated (.off).
- If the static aircraft are currently inactive (.off), they will be activated (.bgl).
- Verify: The script will display a success message indicating the new state of the files.
- Launch MSFS.
