same here, since update 7 and got worser of Australian update
I have been having this same issue from the first day I started using the Thrustmaster TCA. I unmapped all hat switch functions including NPP and it seemed to have done the trick. However, after a few hours of flying, I then experienced 2 back to back CTD’s, both happening in the menu. Don’t know if the CTD (Crash to desktop) is related to the joysticks as well, but it will really suck if I have to go back to controller flying. I tried downloading drivers from Thrustmaster but the installer doesn’t seem to work properly. I would appreciate any recommendations.
What can cause CTDs a feature of windows where it puts USB devices into low power mode when not in use. Then when you use the peripheral (ie a joystick when going from autopilot back to handflying after some time) it wakes the device up and causes a CTD that you often get when ‘connecting’ a USB device when the SIM is running (recognised bug).
This can be resolved through the Devices part of the control panel - if you dig deep enough you will find an option for disabling the usb power saving mode for each connected USB peripheral. I would recommend this for any peripherals used my running MSFS. The SPAD next driver software will do it for you.
This isn’t related to the NPP freeze bug.
Thank you for the recommendation. I went ahead and disabled usb power saving for the Sidestick. I’ll try a couple of flights and reply with an update later.
Hope it works for you - I was definitely getting the majority of my CTDs from my Logitech panels before I applied this fix.
For sure this is a peripheral issue I’d fired up my rig unplugged original mouse keyboard plugged in a different one and got the CTDs in few differing scenarios turned off rig plugged back in original peripherals and couldn’t crash no matter how many times I used hat switch to look
