Freezing/Stuttering related to simconnect?

Brief description of the issue: I get a freeze for about 1/2 sec, 2-5 times per minute whenever simconnect is running. If I disable simconnect, the freezing goes away. CPU and GPU usage both drop to zero during the freeze. Problem happens both in VR and flat screen. I removed every USB peripheral, and the problem persisted.

Also have this problem running NeoFly.

It seems like the polling pauses are much more intense now than they have been in the past, and it’s gotten bad enough where I’m inspired to find a fix/workaround (other than just not using the addon at all).

I’m not exactly sure where to start troubleshooting something like this on my own, but there has to be some setting somewhere that “smooths out” the rythmic polling effect every 7-12 seconds.
