Frequent CTD with 0xc0000005 (probably VR only)

Hi Guys

I have frequent CTDs with the following entry in the application event protocol:

I updated all the drivers, all the software and disabled DOCP RAM profile in the BIOS as I read that this can lead to those crashes.
I (try to) fly in VR most of the time, maybe its connected to this (Pimax Crystal OG)

Other specs: 5800X3D, 4090, 32GB

I have a reproducable CTD, which i posted a bug report: Throttle PPL Mission CTD in VR

But I seem to get them in other scenarios too…

To what problem does the CTD with this error code hint? Any ideas on where to start looking from my side? Or do I just have to wait until MS/Asobo fixes some things?

Cheers!

same for.exactly the same Msfs2020 and msfs2024. Is it on all Aircraft in your Sim ? saw it only on Fenix…

No I also get i on other airplanes… (empty community folder) so does not seem to be related to the Fenix.

i was having the same CTD’s random;;y; couldnt play FS2024 at all. Same error code of 0xc000005

I tried all the fixes as described in the forums, including updating drivers, BIOS, increased page file but nothing worked. When i opened a Zendesk ticket for this error code 0xc00005, the zendesk page said that people with i9-13900 processors may have CTD’s due to damage to processors due to some voltage issue with certain motherboards [ Like ASUS motherboards], and Asobo/ Zendesk recommended opening a ticket with Intel [there is a separate topic on this elsewhere].

So i opened a ticket with Intel, and got my replacement i9-13900K CPU yesterday. I replaced my old CPU with this one. Incidentally, i felt like two of my memory sticks were VERY VERy slightly not fully seated in their slots. When i pressed down on them, i heard a satisfying click.

Today there was also a small update to the sim. Anyway, i have FINALLY completed two full flights of FS2024 and they were rock solid and smooth from start to finish! I also went into VR, and there were no CTD’s there either!

Previously i also would have to reboot my PC after a long flight [ as if i didnt, my PC would crash]. But this time. I flew 2 VFR flights in VR, without rebooting my PC and both were smoot hand rock solid!

The error code i would get in Event Viewer was always the 0xc00005 error.

So for other with the Intel i9-13 or i9-14oo CPU’s look into this issue. Also make sure your RAM is seated well in the slots.

Good luck!

Thx for your answer. PLEASE check your Motherboard also ! There some People that had Motherboards with arched points arround the Ram-socked because overheating. Some Peaople said there Ram was not correct In the sockel because of arched

Mine 14900k is a new RMA CPU…my Voltages for Pl1 and Pl2 are set to 125 Watt
Think not its again damaged…

So dont know. But after last Weekend after ther Serverproblems on msfs2020 and Msfs2024 and changing my DNS Server to Cloudflare my Ctd was gone…so i look in to it.
