I have the same issue, and i realise when i disconnect my VR and my joystick then it loads to the main manu. but then when i connect them CTD. Can anyone help to fix this?? Or does anyone know about this issue? Thanks, Kariem
For me its the other, 80% on loading the screen and CTD. l`m trying something else but dont like my chances. Might have to wait for the new update this week.

Finally guys l got it working, when i went to the install the cloud backup was about to reinstall my settings, so at this stage l clicked on cancel for the cloud sync. l think that was the problem⦠Now l`m at the main menu but now l have to only redo my settings which was worth it.
Thanks for all your help its been great.

I donāt know what cloud backup is.

I got this issue at the end of last week, with an empty community folder 80% on load and CTD. There was a windows update for gaming services I recall.
So uninstalled FS2020 and a full reinstall with no mods and still CTD at 80%.
So will be trying a full install of windows etc and then FS2020. Ordered a new SSD so will do the whole reinstall when disk arrives thursday.
Very weird as never had a CTD before except just after US Update and it would load on 2nd boot attempt (which was fixed by the next update).
Sounds like the only thing to look out for is cloud save and cancel and start again on controller setups.
After hours of research here is the solution which worked for me:
-
Keep your USB Joysticks CONNECTED while this step by step:
-
Go to C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs ā Inside all content inside wgs this will delete your controller profiles.
-
After having done this, disconnect your internet from the PC and start the game, it will tell you to adjust your settings in Microsoft Store in order to allow the offline mode. ā Having this pop up, connect the internet again and make the adjustment as described in the settings of Microsoft Store.
-
Now disconnect the internet again and start the game, it will pop up that MSFS cannot validate your licence but you can proceed and you will have to set up MSFS as it is your first time.
-
Now you should be in the main menue. Go to the world menu and just make a random flight and launch it. Then in the plane, adjust your controller.
-
NOW connect back to the internet
-
- Restart the game with the internet ON
After you press the any key to start you will get prompted with a UI dialogue box titled āgaming UIā. It gives you the option to select two profiles a cloud based one (older) or this machine (newer and local). Select the local machine/newer and let the game load.
- Restart the game with the internet ON
This worked for me so all steps here under your control.

I was lucky enough that a full windows install and FS2020 install fixed it
Can you clearyfy which files you deletet under ā¦/wgs
