From XBox to Pc

Super budget!!!

The only potential problem I see with that Cyberpower build is the GPU. Poor VRAM memory optimization is an ongoing issue right now, and 12GB VRAM might not be enough. I’m not saying Microsobo won’t fix the problem, but it’s a problem right now, and it should not be.

Exceeding your available VRAM leads to bad things, like severely compromised FPS.

From my own experience, I can say that I’ve seen up to 13GB of my 24GB VRAM being used. But that’s only when I test the system at full 4K, using TAA or DLAA antialiasing, and graphics settings that really stress the GPU.

Normally I only see around 7-9GB used with the settings I use (4K, using DLAA Quality setting.)

Bottom line, I’m not saying the 12GB VRAM on the 4080 Super WILL be a problem - but if you try to push the system to the max, it could be. It’s still a much better card than the 4060 Ti 16GB they use in some of their systems, but the 4070 Ti Super 16GB is the way to go.

Yes, you are right. Need the 16GB as i have been following the VRAM saga. Most of their builds seem sold out. I’ll get a new machine next year as my wife’s desktop cannot be upgraded for W11 and she will inherit my current rig “as a present” and I will get a new one.

I am very curious to see what shakes out at NVIDIA when the 5000 series comes out soon.

Guys I changed the RAM

Are they ok???

Assuming you are still going with the MSI MAG x670E Tomahawk Wi-Fi motherboard

That RAM (CMH64GX5M2B6000Z30) is not on the QVL.

That’s not to say it won’t work. The QVL is only the RAM they’ve tested and certified.

The part number is very close to one that is certified:
You can see that the one you chose ends in 30, which is the CAS latency.

This one is qualified CMH64GX5M2B6000Z28
It ends in 28, which is slightly better CAS latency.

I think the new RAM you picked will be just fine.
But I can’t guarantee it, because MSI hasn’t certified it.

I do like Amazon because if a component doesn’t work, you can always return it! :+1:

Guys can I plug like this the 4070? I have those cable and I am struggling to figure out which to use for the GPU.

The Pcie are 3 pin + 1 separate
then I have the 600 w
Or I have also a prolongue I bought separately
maybe with another of this?

My phanteks psu came with that 600w cable. Is it the same connection the other end in your first pic?

I had a port on my psu for the connection in you 1st pic and on my 407Oti super, so just 1 simple connection, but every psu is different, luckily mine had the 600w gpu connection on the psu also, think the correct name is 12vhpwr.

I connected a single 600W cable to my RTX 4090 because the power connector on the card is designed for it. I made sure the connection is properly secured.

If your GPU has a single 16-pin power connector - connect a 600W cable to it and plug the other end of the cable into the power supply, specifically into the port labeled +12VHPWR.

If you ever need help with connecting cables in the future, make sure to provide a photo of the cable, the power connector on the GPU and the power supply ports.

My PSU is PCiE 5 ready and it has a cable 12 pin 600w. So I won’t use the splitter cable on the GPU and just plug the 600w 12 pin one right?

Wilco Captain! Also mine is specifically designe for rtx 40 series with the 12 pin PCie5
so i will remove the splitter and make a single connection

Sound perfect!!!

thanks

Yeah don’t bother with the splitter if your GPU and PSU has the connection for the single 600w cable.

Just make sure it’s fitted all the way in both ends, it can be a Herculean effort!

Here is mine for reference one 600w connection and it’s the same psu end.

I built yesterday, like you Xbox to PC, later today I might try playing, but I got a touch of man flu.

Hope your build goes well.

Sadly my Ram did not arrive. i went to the amazon locker and the locker was empty, they refunded me and now they arrive again on tuesday. I went arounf the city to look for local storee but it looks like nobody sell ram anymore physically :disappointed:

Ah not long, it’s a shame most pc parts aren’t sold on the high street, at least here in UK most pc parts shops are all online.

Same in Italy. Never occurred to me to find a locker empty. Believe me I made the impossible to have all parts this week.-end, and they ruined my efforts
but I set-up almost everything. I am just not sure to mount a second SSD, I have it, and the Mother board has a slot for a second one but it’s without any dissipator and i am scared of it going up in temperature

I’m just using a 2tb ssd m.2 drive currently as well. Mine has few more slots to have more but will make do with just the one drive as I’m not sure how many games I will install and play yet, if it’s like my Xbox I only had 2-3 games at a time installed.

I personally wouldn’t run a modern M.2 SSD without a heat sink. Bummer about your Amazon issues. :disappointed:
