FS 2020 can't select aircraft or airport and Fly button is missing on the world map after the 1st flight

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
After a flight going back to main menu screen it is impossible to fly again.
No flight planner.
No choose airport
No choose plane,
It is possible to got to hanger and change plane there but still no way to fly.
Quit and restart interface is back to normal.
Can fly activities ok, quit, still interface broken.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
9/10 times I quit a flight, maybe 19/20. So rare I use dev mode to change plane in sim now or airport but not ideal.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

1.Fly anywhere
2. Quit flight esc to main menu

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?
I am now as it’s the only way to change plane and airport once I start a session. Takes so long to restart sim these days.

Someone had same issue in 2021:

Same problem if no airports or addon planes in CF.
Removed EVERYTHING from CF and pc hard crashed twice on loading MSFS.
Suspect an external addon like FSUIPC//simbridge/better bravo lights is expecting something in CF.
Put my essentials back as they have been stable commercial addons for 6 months.
It’s something to do with my msfs build I am sure, I have most content installed but have removed some default hand made airports that conflicted with major addons.
It suddenly started this bug a month ago. After that outtage everyone had in 2020 a few days after 2024 was released. There was a small 87mb update i think and then it started.

Hello, i have the same issue. I’m not behind when it was happening because it’s not every time after flying. But it is like you say, there was a small update und after that it happened first time.

Have you found any solution to this issue .. I want to reinstall but dont know whether to install fs20 or fs24

Nope still the same in June 2025. They won’t bother to do a THING about it. If I want to keep flying I can’t change plane or airport without completely restarting sim and waiting 15 mins again.
Bug reports are a WASTE of time.
