FS installation

I have ordered the xBox 360 controller (while I am waiting for the Thrustmaster HOTAS to become available at a reasonable price by reputable sellers).

Questions on installation:

  1. Should I wait till I have the xBox controller hooked up before installing?

  2. My nvme SSD is partitioned in the C:\ where I store the OS and programs. If I don’t want to take up too much space of my C drive, can I install FS on D:\ which is also part of the nvme SSD?

  3. If I store the keycode away safely, I can always reinstall it anytime later on the same machine, or other machine I may upgrade to, right?

Doesn’t matter.

Yes.

The code itself will be useless after use. The product will be bound to your Microsoft Account.

I have a GTX 1060 with 6gb graphic card. Does it matter if I install FS in a HDD instead of the nvme SSD?

the nvme SSD is approx. 15x faster than the HHD.

Fastest drive available would be preferable.
MSFS has a lot of data to load and apart from longer initial loading times you also don’t want it to fall behind on loading textures during a flight.

OK. I will definitely load it into the nvme SSD.

I will consider either upgrading the 1TB nvme into 2TB, or replacing one of the 2TB HHD’s with a 1 or 2 TB SATA SSD. That is, if I will have more games other than MSFS.

And why not? Once I make the investment with MSFS and the HOTAS, there are plenty of other games that may entice me.
