I apologize if this topic has already been created, I couldn’t find it.

After updating the simulator to version SU16, problems with the terrain appeared. Specifically, it seemed as if the earth had been scanned from a satellite, and any objects on the ground, such as buildings, were perceived as exceeding the terrain after processing the images. Buildings, Trees = hills

This problem is observed throughout Russia, from St. Petersburg to Siberia, and as it seemed to me, all these problems are above 60th latitude and in remote areas.

There are also problems with the forest autogen, SU16 now there is a lot of forest, where there was none before the update, it is now there, see below:

somewhere north of Nadym(USMM)

There’s a house here, but no autogen building, but there is a hill)))

There’s another problem. If the Terraforming polygon with the height set was used during the scenario’s construction, then these canyons can now be seen.

All the buildings look like hills.
Please solve this problem.

Greetings! I’m facing the same problem. This issue needs to be resolved as soon as possible, as the MFS2020 is designed for worldwide flights. However, currently, when flying in the northern regions, all cities are located on hills. I took this screenshot at the airport of Novy Urengoy (USMU) and Berezov (USHB). So it’s not just me who has this problem, and it’s not just in one place. For me, as a virtual pilot, a virtual helicopter, the terrain is very important.

The terrain issue appears to affect MSFS 2024 too. This is downtown Nadym northwest of USMM (you can use the drone cam to get there):

and at Tarko-Sale (USDS):

(MSFS 2024 SU4 Beta v1.6.7.0)

I’ve added the msfs-2024 tag to the topic to reflect this.

I already reported the same problem in the north-east of Spain on the 13th of August (after update 16 of MSFS2020):

But here the height of the trees is taken for the terrain. It’s the same in many places.
