Added the LivToAir Cessna Citation CJ3+. This one came out on the 8th and I missed it. I am assuming it’s native, because it has its own product page separate from the 2020 version. simMarket: CESSNA CITATION CJ3+ MSFS24
Hi all! You’ll notice in the Native 2024 addon table a new column labeled Career. A check in this column indicates that the addon is, at least in some part, compatible with Career Mode.
Per a convo here, I’ve marked the following addons compatible:
Please note that I am confirming these in SU2. Beta users may see less (or more) compatiblity listed. Notably, the Hiller and Yak-18T are not appearing as compatible to at least one user on the SU3 beta. Hopefully this will be ironed out, but I will use the live build of the sim as the basis for this new column for now.
EDIT: A note about career mode compatibility: 2 of the addons are compatible with Ferry Flight, but I have never seen a single mission generated for one of them (the Shark 600) so be advised there might be an issue. I do see other Ferry Flight offerings, but the Shark 600 is not even on the filter list. Not sure about the S.205 because I don’t own it.
For those of you who haven’t heard from the livestream, SU2 came with new documentation and tooling to help developers make their addons compatible (yay!) but they have to be Marketplace addons to work (boo!) so we should hopefully start to see more career mode compatibility emerge in the coming months for MP addons.
<rant>Jorg et al, if you’re reading this (he’s totally not, but I may ask about this in the next livestream), it’d be cool if I could pay a fee to “port” my license to the Marketplace. Essentially validate my original purchase somehow and fork over a few bucks to MS to unlock the Marketplace version. Without this, only the original dev and store made money on the purchase, and I can’t use it in Career mode if it’s made compatible. With this, Microsoft also gets a kickback! The alternative of hoping people fully re-buy addons in the Marketplace is probably fairly unlikely</rant>
As for your request for marketplace addons, it would be probably easier to take an approach similar to other stores like Steam or GoG, where the developer can generate a key that you can activate inside the store.
I really, really doubt that they’ll take this, or any, approach. The marketplace doesn’t use “real” money on purchases and doesn’t even report the product you’ve bought (on the receipt), probably for “legal” reasons related to gaming monetization, ownership, taxes and other legislation, in several countries.
These days, according to corporations, you don’t own anything
I’ve been very busy with work lately, but here are some updates from the past week!
Native
Added Captain Sim/FSX360 Boeing 717
Added LVFR Airbus A330-200
Updated SimSolutions DA20-C1 Eclipse to Native/MP
Updated MScenery IL-96, Barracuda, XQ-57, R22, RQ-4, S-64, S-70 Okhotnik to Native (Edit: Some of these were not Native yet, I’ll have to log back into the sim to recall which ones but I believe the IL-96, Barracuda, XQ-57 and one other are still only Compatible.)
Added MP flag Flysimware Learjet-35A
Compatible
Added //42 Fox2 - Base
Added //42 FreedomFox/Fox2 - Complete Pack
Added Aerosachs Tecnam P2008 JC MkII, added MP flag to P2002 JF
Added MP flag to Ant’s Airplanes Tiger Moth, Winjeel and Drifter
Added BeeKay A6M5 Zero Aircraft, MI8-Hip, Kamov Ka-26 and RAF Sunderland Aircraft
Added MP flag to Blackbird Simulations PC-6 and T-6A
Was there an update I’m not aware of? I tried the Complete Package New (the overhaul from a while back) from Orbx Central on the weekend and it had the same result as before: the CPU cooling went into leaf blower mode as soon as I selected the Kitfox and it would never finish loading the model or flight.
I’m not sure when they were originally stated to be compatible, but added them based on their recent Marketplace inclusion. I’m also not sure if they’ve been updated between those two events, unfortunately.
For the FreedomFox/Fox2, what’s written in the //42 site is :“2024 COMPATIBLE version will be made available”…
I had CTD with the one bought on Orbx and it has not received any update since then.
I’ve disabled it and wait for the Patriot.
For ease of management, I have updated the original post to have a single table, sorted by developer as before but with Native addons first. I’ve also rearranged the columns a bit and added a blurb explaining the purpose of the columns.
Also:
Added the Sim Federation Embraer ERJ-145 which is stated as compatible by SimMarket. I’m seeing some of there others are listed as compatible as well, I will add them later today.
Moved the Just Flight Arrow III, Turbo Arrow III/IV and Warrior II from Native to Compatible.
I did this because, while in terms of functionality they are pretty much native, they are not separate products and technically do not support some native features (for instance, chocks and other statics are handled via their custom tablet, not via walk-around.) If others feel strongly that these should be considered native, I’ll move them back.
Actually I’d consider the JF Tomahawk as 2024 native now, because they’ve added the 2024 LOD’s to improve performance (and two discrete references to the 2024 SDK in the release notes), and have separate 2020 and 2024 downloads now.
Added the iFly 737 MAX8 to Compatible - note that they call their FS2024 support “experimental” so be sure to read the product page to understand what that means.
