About the event
Let’s go back in time, about seventy years ago, between 1950 and 1970, when the jet technology has become an obvious choice for high performing aircraft. Get seated in a classic/retro/vintage military jet from this golden era and embark in a beautiful and very scenic exploration of Iceland’s western region. From the coasts, through the valleys, and above mysterious fjords, we will experience a “slow” and relaxing flight at about 300 knots.
More than usual, you’re encouraged to use live weather, because it’s often an important feature on this nordic, frozen and harsh island. Let’s just hope the visibility will be good enough for us to spot these little concrete strips lost in the vast snowing plains. And the wind won’t be too strong while we will make or final approach on Isafjordur alongside steep and threatening reliefs.
Take-off is at 19:00 UTC. The flight time will be above two hours long. But as always with Flight Sim Break, our main rule is: Join when you can, leave when you must!
If you stay with us all the way, that’s great. But if you have to leave early, that’s no problem either. We will make a 10 minute break at BIKR.

You’ll notice a lot of suggested (payware) aircraft. And most links go to Orbx… We are not affiliated to any of these creators or to Orbx. It was just the simplest way to share these links. You can totally get these planes anywhere else, or even don’t get them at all and prefer any freeware or anything you want, as long as you can manage to keep the pace of the group: 300kts.
All the suggested sceneries (even the Iceland Mesh from Orbx) are free, and you should definitely get them if you can. They will improve your experience significantly.
