FSDreamTeam GSX for MSFS

If the jetway doesn’t work for any reason, GSX will use bus+stairs as a backup. Like it would happen in real life.

Umberto, I think you’ve been holding out on us in re: some undocumented features of GSX.

I was watching my aircraft load up from an external view, as I like to see all the little people running around doing their jobs, when I saw something amazing.

One of the stair car drivers was, shall I say, waving his hands in the air and dancing like he just don’t care. Not a glitch - clearly a designed animation.

This should be the #1 bullet point on the list of GSX features: “Ground crew will occasionally get their boogie on for no reason. Dance moves are non-study level, meant only for simulation purposes.” GSX might be worth the purchase price for that alone…

@Umberto67

I wanted to clarify when selecting GSX boarding, does it progressive sync/load the weights for default MSFS 2024 aircraft (e.g. Boeing 707)?

I know it does progressively sync the fuel for aircraft that uses the default MSFS system.

No, GSX never progressively sync payload on any aircraft (not default, not 3rd party).

If you see some 3rd party planes synching their payload with GSX, it’s because the developer coded a payload automation to be in sync with GSX using the various GSX APIs/LVars

So I guess the Fenix A320 is one of the 3rd party aircraft that increases the payload as cargo and passengers board?

Really wish more developers would code that automation. It is a small but nice addition to the integration experience.

I have a very specific issue that only happens in Vienna (LOWW) where the driver and wheels on the baggage carts are missing textures.

Every time, only at this airport, only for the handling operator “VIE”

A full reinstall did not solve the problem.

Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this?

I manually changed the handling operator to default yellow, but as I am using a GSX profile this gets reverted on every update of the profile.

I would really like to finally solve that issue constantly.

Can’t recall that is GSX. You had some other addon for LOWW as far as I know. Could be wrong though.

Version 4.0.20 – August 28th, 2026

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: The checked bags loaded now follow the SimBrief dispatch’s own bag count and bag weight when the plan provides them; the flight-length estimate is used only when it doesn’t.

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: Airport editor - a docking system raised above the ground (a screen fitted on a third-party casing) now remembers the ground level it was calibrated on, so it keeps its exact height when the terrain under it differs on another system or scenery version. Existing profiles are unchanged; re-saving the position in the editor adds the anchor.

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: Half-width containers (LD3 type) are loaded in pairs, as in real life: the first goes to the far side of the hold facing the other way, the second in front of it.

  • GSX Pro NEW: MSFS 2024 - the GPU and the jetway power unit now charge the aircraft battery, as they always did in P3D: with Sim Update 6 the battery level became writable on aircraft using the modern electrical system, so the battery fills while ground power is connected (about 8 minutes from flat to 95%).

  • GSX Pro Change: PIGS are no longer placed at stairs that passengers don’t use: at a gate where the jetway serves the passengers, stairs at another door (auto stairs, catering, requested by the user) get no PIGS. They are still placed at gates with simultaneous jetway and stairs boarding, at gates without a jetway, and when a jetway fails or is not docked and boarding falls back to stairs and bus.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Aborting a service while its vehicles were moving could freeze GSX for up to two minutes, or make the Couatl engine restart, before the abort took effect.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Cargo self-loader with multiple trips - the next loader could arrive on top of the previous one still at the door.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Aircraft editor - after a Reset, the deleted customization’s door settings stayed in use until GSX was restarted.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: The invoice cargo manifest showed 0 kg for baggage holds; the bag weight is now reported.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: A fuel truck (or catering) that had finished could stay blocked for minutes between a docked loader and a baggage train before leaving: its detour was checked on a different path than the one it then drove, and a route to a taxi node behind it made it turn straight into the vehicles at the next door. The detour is now checked on the exact path driven, and when the way out lies behind the truck it turns out to the side away from the airplane first.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: When Deboarding was the first service requested, the baggage/cargo trains kept the size they were given before the cargo plan existed, so a hold needing several trips could be finished after a single one; the trains are now sized from the plan.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: On a freighter, stairs requested by the user were sent away automatically at Deboarding when they stood where a cargo train must dock (TFDi MD-11F door 1L), and on aircraft whose doors GSX cannot operate this left the stairs waiting for the door and the main deck cargo train blocked. The stairs are no longer dismissed automatically: when a cargo train or loader needs their spot, GSX asks whether to remove them.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: In the airport editor, stopping a vehicle path test drive with Numpad 5 froze GSX for two minutes.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: A duplicated line in CouatlAddons.ini made every setting revert to its default and prevented any setting from being saved.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: The SimBrief plan was rejected as “aircraft doesn’t match” on aircraft whose GSX profile uses a family type code, like the Maddog X (MD83 plan vs MD80 profile).

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: With “Trust SimBrief passengers” enabled, the passenger count of a SimBrief plan GSX had rejected (another aircraft or route) was still used, even on freighters.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: On freighters without a passenger count from the aircraft, the cargo weight was turned into hundreds of passengers for catering billing; the crew on board is used instead.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: On freighter main decks, small pallets were planned as fractions of a pallet position, which inflated the container count and the number of train trips (777F: 6 trips instead of 4).

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: The fuel hydrant dispenser could stay at the aircraft forever after refueling, stuck at “lowering platform” (reported on the Fenix A320 in MSFS 2024), blocking the other vehicles.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: When the jetway is not detected as connected, the backup stairs now go to the front or middle door on aircraft without a rear passenger door (they were only ever sent to the rear door, so those aircraft got no stairs and invisible passengers); when no backup stair can be provided, GSX now says why.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: MSFS - a jetway that was visibly connected could be judged “not docked” at boarding because of a momentary bad reading of the airport’s jetway data, sending the stairs and bus instead; the reading is now retried for up to 15 seconds, as it already was on arrival.

  • GSX Pro Fix: The EFB app could stay on “Restarting GSX, please wait…” after a Couatl restart.

  • GSX Pro Fix: Couatl engine - when the simulator rejected a request for the airport’s jetway data, GSX kept running but stopped responding: no menu or settings page could be opened until restart.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Aircraft editor - with Windows display scaling above 100%, the top bar was too short and the “Using:” file path line and its folder icon were clipped after every save or reset, until the window was resized.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Aircraft editor - on aircraft whose only defined passenger door is the rear one (ATR), the undefined doors were drawn bunched up next to it; they are now spread over the whole fuselage.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Aircraft editor - the labels of the outermost points (water, lavatory) could be cut off at the sides of the diagram in the default view.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Cargo self-loader - the containers pushed into the hold stayed visible inside the aircraft until the loader left; they now disappear as soon as they reach their place, like with the other loaders.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Containers loaded into a single-row hold (A320 family, ATR freighter) are now pushed to the centre of the hold; the AKH (LD3-45) could stop with its side outside the fuselage skin on the ATR-F.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Cargo self-loader - arriving loaded at a cargo door on the left side of the aircraft, its default route went behind the tail on the right and then through the fuselage, ending with a 180° turn at the door; it now goes round the correct side.

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: Added the following Catering operators: Do&Co Seoul (South Korea), Fresh-Jet (UK), MAG Culinary Solutions (Malaysia), Perm Bolshoye Savino (Russia).

  • GSX Pro NEW: Added the following Refueling operators: NIS Petrol (Serbia).

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: Added the following Handling operators: GH London (UK), Groupe Europe Handling (France), Perm Bolshoye Savino (Russia).

Aha thanks for the calrification.

For the default MSFS aircraft/system can this feature be added please? Does the SDK expose variables for GSX to write into the aircraft weights?

just one more visibility bump for this “bug”(?), sorry for the bother - it really is a blocker towards my enjoyment of the sim at the moment

If you are referring to the request from the Streamdeck to install a profile, I can’t replicate it.

Have you maybe created your own profile by placing GSX buttons individually one by one ? If this is case, it’s best not to. What I do, instead, is placing a standard Streamdeck “Switch profile” button that will switch to GSX in another profile when pressed, so you can enter it when you need to use GSX and return back to the previous profile by pressing the top-left back arrow in the GSX profile which will switch back to default.

I’ll give this a shot today and report back. I am indeed using piecemeal GSX functions in lieu of the profile. Thanks for your eyes on this.

No joy with this unfortunately.
Stream Deck: I want GSX services living here
Stream Deck Plus: I have so much other stuff living here

I tested installing the Stream Deck GSX Profile, when prompted, and it installed it to my Stream Deck Plus. That satisfied the persistent messaging that I was trying to suppress, but it causes my Plus to visually switch over to the GSX profile and back whenever I use my OTHER stream deck to request a service, which is kind of inelegant and distracting.

I’m wondering if installing the GSX profile on my regular Stream Deck, instead of the individual button functions, would resolve this situation. Interestingly though, the prompt (screenshot attached) never installs the profile to my regular Deck, only the Plus. I’ve tested this by unplugging my Stream Deck + entirely, requesting a GSX service to trigger the prompt, and the prompt never shows up. Plug the Plus back in, request a service (even when my Elgato app shows my intended Stream Deck in focus, prompt shows up, profile gets installed on the Plus.

Is there a way by which I can manually install the GSX profile onto my Stream Deck? The one that already has the plugin and on which I’ve been using the individual button functions up til now? - EDIT: i’ve just exported the GSX profile from my Plus and imported it into my regular Deck to test this and the prompts to install the profile on my Plus still continue to happen.

I’ve tried to explain this with as little confusion as I can but I know it’s a little convoluted, I’m sorry, I do appreciate the help and I hope it’s a simple solution that I’m missing for whatever reason.

This may be a silly question but is there a reason that seated passengers have not been implemented on the default inibuilds airbus aircraft? They have cabins.

Cheers

Yes, that’s what I explained, it’s best if you install the GSX profile and only add a single button somewhere else to call it.

First of all, by default they are streamed but, even if you chose the option to download locally, the file we need to patch to add seated passengers ( attached_objects.cfg ) is still not accessible because it’s encrypted.

Thanks for the quick reply, makes sense. :+1:

I have since gotten this fixed. The issue with your suggestion is that installing the profile on Stream Deck STILL prompts me to install the profile on Stream Deck Plus. The reason I don’t want the profile on Stream Deck Plus is because when I invoke a GSX service, it makes the Plus screen flash briefly over to GSX instead of the Airbus overhead controls that I want; it’s just kind of clunky and ugly.

The fix was removing the following line from the manifest.json of the plugin itself:
{ "Name": "Profiles/GSX.Plus", "DeviceType": 7, "Readonly": false, "DontAutoSwitchWhenInstalled": true, "AutoInstall": true },

It now behaves the way I want: all GSX functions can be called from my Stream Deck without Elgato’s software prompting me to install an unwanted profile on the device that isn’t being used for GSX to begin with.

Thank you for the help! My concern is that future GSX updates will revert these manifest.json changes, and I wonder if you’re able to make it so that isn’t the case.

edit: i want to say this too, while we’re chatting - the recent changelogs in GSX, the pace of development, and particularly its integration with Stream Deck have been the most prominent factors in me getting super excited about MSFS again. This is all so well-done and I’m really enjoying it.

Version 4.0.21 – August 30th, 2026

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: Cargo loaders move two containers at a time when they fit, one behind the other on the platform and on the bridge, as in real life, both loading and unloading: ULD handling is much faster.

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: Cargo loaders raise and lower the platform and the bridge in a smarter way, as soon as they are clear, an empty platform or bridge rises faster than a loaded one, and the pauses between steps are shorter.

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: The containers on a cargo train are no longer in random order: they are arranged so as many as possible can go up on the loader together.

  • GSX (FSX/P3D) Fix: Cargo loaders and containers now carry the same measurements as in MSFS, so the new two-at-a-time loading works there too; the LD3 (AKE) and LD3-45 (AKH) containers had a wrong length and were pushed too little into the hold. Update the FSX/P3D version of GSX to get the updated data.

  • GSX (all versions) Change: “Complete now” during cargo loading no longer makes the loaders vanish on the spot: the train drives away, the loader finishes the containers already on its platform and bridge, then leaves normally. Abort is still immediate.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: A cargo train whose parking slot is beside the front cargo door, with no room to line up, looped in front of the door and arrived with its wagons folded; it now goes around on the outboard side and comes in straight. Reported at LIMC stand 717 with the PMDG 777F.

  • GSX Pro Fix: The cart presented to a cargo loader was not always parallel to it after the train crept forward on a curved dock (front and left-side doors); each cart is now aligned to the loader, as the belt loader’s already were.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Custom approach editor - a new path for a baggage/cargo train now starts from the train’s real default route, as it already did for the other vehicles, instead of a straight line to the door.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Fuel truck and baggage trains could wait for each other forever, all “on the way”: a vehicle held on its way in no longer keeps others waiting on its reserved work area.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: A leaving fuel tanker boxed in by a working baggage train retried the same rejected detour until its wait ran out; each retry now plans a wider berth.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Closing the “Select pushback direction” menu without answering (hotkey, Home, or its timeout) silently dropped the departure request; the request now waits, and the pushback menu offers “Select pushback direction” to bring the question back; while the tug is still coupling, that menu says what the tug is doing.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: The fuel hydrant’s platform stayed down for a long while after the operator had already climbed it, leaving him standing in mid-air, then jumped up all at once.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: The “Remove the stairs?” question counted as “No” when it went unanswered (menu timed out, panel closed or another menu open), leaving the vehicle that needed the spot (rear baggage loader behind the boarding stairs) waiting for the whole boarding; unanswered, it now removes the stairs.

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: Added the following Catering operators: Chelyabinsk Airport (Russia).

  • GSX Pro NEW: Added the following Refueling operators: Exeter Airport (UK), Exolum (Spain), SLCA (Spain), PPT Aviation (Cyprus), Galp Aviacao (Portugal), KLM Tankdienst (Netherlands), Uplift International (Europe).

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: Added the following Handling operators: Agunsa (Chile), Chelyabinsk Airport (Russia).
