Several more flights for me with win8 compatibility mode and no couatl crashes. I’d say it’s a solution (for me) at this stage.

When I arrive at destination for every flight I do GSX menu dont load. Maybe its since I installed //42 menu, I dont know.
This is a sign that the Coutl scripting engine for GSX has crashed during your flight. Lots of talk about this above. You can double-click the Start Coutl shortcut that GSX creates for you, or otherwise restart the scripting engine, then reopen the GSX menu in the sim and it should be working.
Otherwise, there are posts up thread here that tell you to run the Coutle program in Win8 compatibility mode.

So the with the new update, GSX now knows the correct door locations for the PMDG 737-900 and -900ER, but unlike with the -600/700/800 variants (and I checked), GSX doesn’t seem to “know” how to control the doors. I had to manually open and close the doors on the plane when I call catering service, for instance. This problem does NOT exist for the others, only the -900/900ER.

Now, how do I update this thing, I run the FSDT Live Installer and after a minute of downloading stuff it keeps crashing.
edit: I now updated via the FSDT Installer, looks better. Maybe a detail, the state of the mouse arrow in the installer shows a sort of update circle. Which looks like its still doing something.
Anyone else seeing pink (missing) operator logo textures on the ground equipment after latest update?
Missing for me in KDEN amd KLAS tonight. First time I’ve seen pink textures missing with GSX. v2.2.7.

Anyone else seeing couatl completely crash along with grey pop up error window on final into an airport. Happened to me a couple of times after this weeks updates. It’s very annoying getting a ‘restart couatl Y / N / view logfile’ prompt pop up on final approach. It wasn’t happening before this weeks series of updates. Last night into FSDT LSZH.
Thinking about buying GSX. Is it worth it right now?
Does it have a big impact on the performance of the game? FPS etc.
From what I’ve observed no huge perf hit for me. The biggest perf hit is when you go for a maybe visually realistic but they call it ‘insane’ passenger board/deboard. Where large groups of animated passengers board/deboard at same time. Looks good, but on a 3090 I see maybe a 5fps drop during this ‘insane’ deboard/board process on this setting (probably CPU load). TBH it’s really not bad on FPS otherwise. Keep in mind any FPS /performance drops at gate are only at gate, not while taxiing or takeoff/landing, so generally it’s good on FPS (for me).
I do get mixed results of how well certain aspects work depending on airport and how good the custom ini files you download are. I’ve had some great immersive experiences. Last night at T5 EGLL, I had passengers deboard and I could see them (through the glass) all walking through the terminal building after the deboard, take an escalator to next level and continue to walk off in distance in the building. Very cool.
Where it doesn’t work so well is when you encounter some of the aforementioned airports with non GSX jetways, or the ini files are not perfectly set up for some gates, so you can see passengers deboard by doing an airwalk where the jetway is not aligned etc. I generally temper my expectations, but some airport/ini combinations are really nice. And some gates are better optimised than others.
If you park your expectations on perfect deboards/boarding every time then GSX works exceptionally well for ground services in general. They all look nice and work well. Pushback is very impressive, and is almost worth the price alone. You can ditch all other pushback tools.
Also be prepared for a longish install process via a slightly unintuitive (to me) installer, but it does work.
I find GSX works best immersion wise with a cold dark start, so you get the whole pre departure experience, which I like as it adds a whole new dimenstion to your flight. To me it’s well worth it as an add on IMO, and it brings so much more depth & enjoyment into the sim. I use it all the time for airliners now.

UPDATE - February 15th, 2023 - (v2.2.8)
Hello, since this update nothing works anymore. No vehicles, stairs, trucks are visible. When I ask for stairs, the plane doors open but no stairs appear. Same with the tank truck, luggage, etc.
Have you tried clearing your cache. I saw a few issues recently on my first flight after a 2.2.6 update but they went away after a few more flights. GSX all Worked OK for me last night. Not sure if there is some GSX cache we are meant to be clearing after every update or not.
I also had one flight after a recent update where all service vehicles were there but completely invisible. Still no idea why. Hasn’t happened since.
