FSHUD & 3rd Party Airports (I know Again)

Hey guys,

I know this is a topic beaten to death. I’ve tried researching my question though and haven’t been able to find the answer. I know FSHUD can’t find 3rd Party Airports bought off the Marketplace (PC) due to them being encrypted. HOWEVER, If I have GSX Profiles for these airports will that make a difference as they have custom gate positions etc.

Thanks!

Hello,

FSHud DOES able to read 3rd party airports via MSFS SDK.
There is currently no limitation on that.
Also it was mentioned many times in our FB page and product page.

Good Morning,

So if I purchased 3rd party airports from the MSFS marketplace FShud will recognize the airport/gates etc? I know there was alot of posts/videos showing it didn’t due to the files being encrypted by the marketplace. Is there additional software I need to download?

Hello,

As said previously - issue with encrypted scenery from marketplace was “fixed” in one of the recent versions.
It was fixed by loading scenery from MSFS SDK.

You don’t need any additional software, FSHud just “knows” to read marketplace scenery as well.

Regarding posts/videos - I it is outdated information which is currently incorrect.

@fshud3909 is there a reason why the altimeter doesnt match the sim? Keeps saying its 29.92/1013 which isnt accurate.

Weather isn’t taken from the Simulator, but from weather server.
All depends on which airport and what METAR was received.

@fshud3909, for example I departed KMIA at altimeter 29.92 which was incorrect then arrived at KJFK at altimeter 29.92 which was also incorrect. Is there something I am doing wrong on my end?

@fshud3909 I also just flew from KJFK to TNCM and again ATC stated altimeter was 29.92 for both.

Please open a ticket from the application to overview possible reasons for that and further investigation

I didn’t want to write up a whole thread for this question.. Apologies for hijacking the thread :joy:
How does the whole runway thing work in fshud…
I’ve loaded up my simbreif right…

I’ve noticed that the runway selected in simbreif more often than not… ends up being the opposite to one in fshud…

Here’s the Murphys law :rofl: so to speak…

If I change it to the runway fr24 uses/correct wind direction. I end up arriving into on coming departures…
If I don’t change it… You’ve guessed it… I arrive into on coming departures…
Is there any algorithms that you use that can help me not arriving into departing traffic..
Also..
Is it possible to allow holding traffic to line up as soon as a plane on the runway starts its takeoff run, same as on arrival, the ability for a holding plane to line up as soon as a plane on arrival lands… just to speed it up abit

Hello,

Thank you for reporting those issues.

Currently those issues are the most focused points of development.
I suppose next build of our 1.3 BETA will include most of the fixes you’ve mentioned.

Regarding co-relation with FR24 - It’s impossible to know from FR24 which runway is currently in use, but the FSHud selected runway (selection done by calculation of environment and other factors) should definitely prevent opposite runway usages.
In short words: After the fix - if the runways would be different from FR24, it will not make much sense because it’s still aligned by weather other factors
(taxi time, traffic load and so on).

Stay update and please let us know for anything else (here or via tickets system).
