FSLTL - FS Live Traffic Liveries is live!

For GA models - if you have removed the Asobo versions you will get pink textures.

I have the asobo version & also deleted it & reinstalled it through content manager to see if something was somehow corrupted.

I am considering trying to reduce the size of FSLTL models. In an earlier post, @C0rsten suggested using XnViewMP for this. Before I plunge headlong into this and cause all kinds of chaos: I looked at the FSLTL folders and it seems that the images are stored as gltf and bin files. On the XbView website I did not see them specifically state that this file format is recognised. Am I right in assuming the format IS recognised and resized accordingly?

Thanks!

I can’t find the earlier post with instructions on downsizing the textures, but I have used a texture converter utility that is pretty much automatic. You don’t need to worry about file formats. You just use a command line utility and pick the output resolution and let it run.

My search for the post with the steps failed, but someone here hopefully has it handy and is better organized that I am.

This one? FSLTL - FS Live Traffic Liveries is live! - #580 by C0rsten

This is the method I use. Takes a bit to properly set it up, but it’s pretty automatic once it is and does run from the command line.

@Mooncatt3953 has it!

Thanks for this. Must admit it is rather more complex than I had hoped…

Yeah, it was a bit intimidating at first, but works out ok as long as you follow the steps exactly. The writeup does a good job walking you through it. I’m not saying it’s better or worse than the one @SlabsFly posted, just that it is one I know works. I saw someone question if that other method was compatible with the necessary files because they were not mentioned in the compatibility list.

Yes, this is the way: https://izn-flightsim.s3.amazonaws.com/textureoptimizer.html

But i dont use 1K or 2K resolution anymore. There is no enough benefit for doing that.

So I just did that procedure and after it completed I got some warnings:

When I scrolled back it looks like these files were corrupted?

When I tried it a second time, I got similar warnings. Anyone else getting these types of errors/warnings?

Just go for it. Only 6 errors, should work just fine.

Can you manually add models and liveries to FSLTL where they are not part of the inbuilt ones?

If it was only 6 I wouldn’t be too concerned however the last part of the screen output was only showing a summary. I re-did the conversion and redirected the screen output to a file and altogether there were about 884 files with issues (see below).

It would be good to know if others are having the same issues with TextureOptimizer.

I haven’t used this app, but I have used XnViewMP which was recommended much earlier in this thread, and a couple of other batch image converters with previous sims. They all run out of memory at some point which results in missing textures and scrambled liveries. You end up only converting about 10 liveries at once to avoid errors, which has become more trouble than it’s worth to be honest.

I havent had any errors with my TextureOptimizer.

Btw, FSLTL injector works great with GAmod: https://youtu.be/HWn_XuXKwWs?si=BOQgkyat2MbayKgB

I just happened to have the earlier version of AI Texture Optimizer that I had used previously (v1.3) and I compared it with the current version (v1.4). The newer version of Texture Optimizer was the only difference in the suite of utilities used for conversion both times. I considered my previous conversion with Texture Optimizer v1.3 to be successful on the older version of the FSLTL base.

I then ran the conversion of the current FSLTL base with the two versions of Texture Optimizer and the only difference was that v1.4 processed 13 more files without warnings than v1.3. Whatever files that got warnings were just left unprocessed and moved over to the “Optimized” folder. The only reason I noticed the warnings was that v1.4 had a little more info that was displayed upon completion with regards to the warnings than v1.3.

Therefore, there should be no issues in using the converted files.

I just had the same kind of “Eureka!” moment after installing FSLTL.
I sat at a ramp, cold and dark at KLAS in my FSR500, hopped in the drone, and floated over the runways and taxiways, mesmerized by all the airliner traffic around me.

The world was pretty sterile before. Now it seems alive.

As for performance… I was getting 45 FPS/ 22ms latency, which, on the ground at a major airport with all that traffic, seems better than what I imagined it would be.

So cool. I’ll definitely be donating a little money to the developer. I’ve been trying to do that for the freeware devs who obviously devote much time, effort, and knowledge to making this sim a better, richer experience.

FSLTL doesn’t work for me. I followed everything to the letter but the injector says:

LFPO using max 18 additional parked aircraft
17:09:03 EZY28QX - A320 - G-EZWP @ LSGG → EGGD| id 0000 | Counts IFR-A…0:G…0 VFR…0 | FlightPlanDB route is 1610 days old - regenerating

And so on, I never see any aircraft on the airport and the regenerating message keeps popping up every ~20 seconds.

Have you downloaded the base pack as well as the injector? The base pack contains the actual aircraft models & liveries.
