FSLTL or FS Traffic?

I see a340 is not available in either FST or FSLTL; it is available with AIG though. Is there a way to install just the a340 from AIG, put it in the community folder and hope it gets picked by FSLTL injector?

There is a freeware pack on flightsim.to that adds a few models that are missing from all three mainstream traffic modules. But I’ve been unable to relocate it after first clapping eyes on it a week or so ago…

Can you clarify this? Did using FST models with FSLTL allow you to up your parked plane amount with better performance? How otherwise did you accomplish that?

I turned on FSLTL setting for prioritizing FST models of FSLTL and then saw an improvement in performance with max 30 parked aircraft as the injector started. I then changed the settings to something (I don’t remember the exact setting) that would inject a higher number of parked aircraft automatically. Loaded FT EHAM and had 56 parked aircraft with minimal performance impact.

Is FSLTL still being worked on??
There hasn’t been an update vor quite some time and and, when sitting on the apron, i’m still seeing airliners doinf low passes and other things of that nature…

That’s a good question. I thought one of the main FSLTL devs was working on BeyondATC, so possibly not. The low passes you refer to are an MSFS problem and won’t be fixed until MSFS 2024 (maybe?) or a product like BeyondATC moves injection out of the sim.

I thought as much as them snatching the main dev won’t be beneficial for the further development …

You sure it’s FSLTL and not another online player flying C172 or a helicopter where MSFS shows A320 model instead of a correct one? It’s a known bug or a feature, depends how you look at it :). I saw many A320Neo in a hover soon after helicopters were added to the game.

I saw this quite a bit yesterday, and I don’t do multiplayer. I hadn’t seen it in awhile.

Also, as for the FPS hit with FSLTL, you could try culling the numbers by using AIFlow (flightsim.to) and setting the AICullEnable value in the ini file to 1. That was a suggestion from Carsten and it boosted my FPS and reduced stutters. It’s worth a try.

Don’t have multiplayer enabled…

That’s an interesting suggestion. I’ll give it a go. What does that do?

AIFlow (along with AIGround, both apps available on Flightsim.to) are two apps that work to control AI traffic in numerous ways. I couldn’t even begin to tell you all of what they do, but you can read the doc to get the scoop on it. I’m no expert on this by any means but I’ll try to explain what I know of the Cull feature, and if someone here can correct me, then please by all means feel free to do so.

When AI spawns planes around you, it apparently spawns a specific amount within your ā€œcircle of influenceā€, let’s say 100 of them. What the AICullEnable feature does is to reduce that number similar to saying ā€œremove any AI traffic further than 45 miles from meā€. There are other options, like telling it to remove all GA traffic, or traffic from or headed to certain airports… there are several from which to choose.

I was having a reduction in FPS and noticed the stuttering, and like others as a test I removed FSLTL which also cleared almost all the stuttering. I wanted other planes in the sky, so I thought I’d just have to live with it. I read Corsten’s suggestion to try the Cull feature, and it gave me 10 FPS and reduced the stuttering quite a bit.

Best of luck.

Will try and report back. Thanks!

What is the general consensus re: AIGound & AIFlow w/ FSLTL?

The FSLTL folks seem to think the 2 AI apps are unnecessary. Have any of you experimented with various combinations and what have you, currently, found to be the best way to go?

FSLTL has its own settings for culling AI at distances, did you try tuning those?

No, I haven’t tried it within FSLTL. I like the additional options that the AI apps offer, so I did it there.

Same here, in fact there are times I see aircraft approaching runway wheels open at taxi speed merrily passing a 100 ft or more over the runway.

This disrupts the entire AI flow, long queues for take off and obviously aircraft being removed by fsltl once thy are past stuck time removal.

Have you guys tried FSHud in combination with FSLTL models. This injects and ā€œcontrolsā€ traffic which gets rid of a lot of the built in AI problems. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and for me, it is a game changer

I don’t use the Injector, just stock AI Live Traffic, but I do have FSLTL for the Models + Liveries and supplemented by Simple Traffic.

AI Flow and AI Ground really help in that situation, especially if you’re at a good sized Class 2 airport, which is about the most I’ll be at given I fly GA all the time.

Even then, you will still find yourself in some crazy situations - was departing Downtown St. Louis (not the main airport), was in a standoff situation with an AI jet, we were both at the opposing hold short lines for the same runway and nothing happened for about three minutes.
