Hi, after installing SU11, I thought I try the FSR-feature. Therefore, I also updated the Driver-SW of my GPU. Unfortunately, I am now getting CTDs during startup of the sim, happened even in Safe Mode:
“Your graphics device has encountered a problem and MS Flight Simulator will exit. This may be due to graphics card overclocking, overheating or due to a driver fault.”
Testwise I renamed the Community-folder - same result
I am not doing any graphics card overclocking
Overheating not the case
Driver fault - I have the latest available Adrenalin driver.
My setup:
MB X570 Aorus Ultra
Ryzen9 3900X
64GB DDR4 RAM
Gigabyte Radeon RX5700
Adrenalin 22.10.3 (Oct 2022)
Corsair Force MP600 SSD (10GB of 930GB free)
Win11
Display: Windowed, 3 monitors put together (activated under "Experimental)
Resolution 1920x1080
AMD FSR 2
Balanced
DX12
Global Rendering: High-End
And - before I forget: In Adrenalin, I am now getting displayed “Alien Isolation” as last played game instead of the MSFS2020, since I have updated the driver - interesting.
Thanks. Tried that as well, but no luck. Still crashing. I think it is an DX12 issue. When I roll back to DX11, CTDs seem to be gone (no time for longer flight testing at the moment, only a quick test)
Where can I find this one, could you pls point me to it? I was at the official AMD-page - the only one for Win11 and RX5700 I found, was this one (Oct 2022), and that from May 2022. Thanks
After numerous restarts I can say that I am sure I have found the issue:
Experimental / Multi Window: As I have 3 screens, I have activated the feature. In combination with DX12, this does not work yet.
After going back by deleting the additional windows, changing to “Window” instead of full screen, and dragging the single screen over 3 screens (as before the last months without problem), DX12 and FSR also works on my setup (tested for a while in a flight over NYC).
Hy, Have the same CTD problem with AMD driver. Same Error massage as the Topic Author…
I havent any multi monitor setup
Rolled back after using amd cleaner to 22.10.2 but everytime a start a flight, a few seconds later after flying the massage appears. I used it in quality and Performance Mode, no difference.
When I switch so dx11 all went fine…
Use a Vega56 and would appriciate the FSR function =)
have tried it too, also a install without adrenalin, so driver only… no chance!
I tried it again at the moment. The funny thing is when I start the flight and I rolling around on the ground, there are no issues. but as soon as i takeoff and gain some altitude, a few seconds later driver error from AMD =( an a black screen in MSFS occurs
I’ve had a black screen once with msfs but it happened because windows updated and override the drivers. Can’t remember which setting changed but what I did is disable windows from installing the display drivers.
So far it’s been a pretty stable experience.
I’m using the latest WQHL driver.
