[FSS] Ring Road Rally over Iceland (Multiplayer Tour)

The island of Iceland in the Northern Atlantic is a paradise for bush pilots, offering many remote airstrips located at spectacular locations. And flying can become quite challenging: Especially during spring and autumn, rapidly changing weather conditions as well as strong winds are an aviators everyday business.

The new tour follows the famous Ring Road on Iceland, which I had the good fortune to drive on all around the island with my wife. Lots of beautiful and awe inspiring sights to see, from waterfalls to volcanoes to glaciers and fjords.

It’s no surprise that Iceland has provided some grand scenery for Hollywood movies like Interstellar, James Bond, Batman, Star Wars and many others: It’s got a somewhat otherworldly appeal you won’t find anywhere else on the planet.

Tonight (07/08/2025), here’s how to join:

  • You need FS2024 to fly along.
  • Leg’s gonna start at 7 pm zulu time
  • You need to join the West Europe Multiplayer Server. If you don’t know how, watch this: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/SdavexSz6BI
  • It helps to activate traffic nameplates so we can spot each other more easily. If you don’t know how, watch this: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/SdavexSz6BI
  • Add “DefragDad” as a friend on FS2024 to make it easier to find me.
  • Pick an aircraft which can do at least 80 KIAS (a little more is better), that’s our average speed on the legs. I fly a Islander BN2, another good choice would be a C172 or similar.
  • We’ll simply meet up on the airfield and then decide when and which runway to take off from.
  • Please either join the FlightSimSafaris.com channel on the FSS Discord server to be able to communicate, or…
  • … as usual I’ll stream on Twitch so if you can’t join the Discord server for whatever reason you can communicate on Twitch as well.

The leg will start at Keflavik (BIKF).

Sorry guys, yesterday was cursed. First my FS installation went haywire, then my internet broke down. We’ll try again on Thursday, instead of Pacific Edge. I’ll update the event and let you know the details soon.
