Indeed. And one of the two that brlowe posted above that RealSimGear rebrands is also dual monitor capable.
Yeah I have seen that comment but it is not true. You do hopweverr have to configure windows to support multiple Touch Screens : Control Panel | Tablet PC Settings | On the Display Tab in the Configure section click on the Setup button and follow the onscreen instructions. The responses can be laggy at times but it does work. also FWI you need to be an administor on the box to setup.
Multi Touch works fine for me on both touch monitors.
Well with a hardware Engineer friend help here, We got to the bottom of my touchscreen Woes.
My Wimaxit touchscreen monitor was not working most of the time in touch mode. We looked at cables and hardware and determined that the problem with my one USB-C cable setup was that the Port on the Video card was being overloaded with inrush current when the monitor was plugged this resulted in the USB Data portion of the connection failing to initialize and thus the Touchscreen functionality listed as not present. We found there to be just a 5-7Milliamp difference between it working and not, mostly it did not work. We even tried the $130 Apple cable and saw the same results. We could not determine If the video card port was weak. There are no specs to show max current for it but it works fine connecting to my Dell 32inch monitor so we are convinced this is a compatibility issue between the USB-C out on the Video card and the Portable monitor in demanding too much power at startup. FWIW the Monitor power demand drops by about 25% once initialized. so it is then within spec but the USB port does not reinitialize after it fails until the monitor is unplugged and reconnected.
So for now I am using a Mini HDMI port AND USB-C Power and DATA via a USB 3.1 Gen2 hub. Weāll see how this does log term.
ALSO FWIW my 4K portable display is arriving today according to Amazon after getting lost in the Snow for a week⦠Fingers Crossed! Will See if I can cram PFD and MFD onto one display Probably too crowded for a 15.6 inch display⦠but weāll seeā¦
Finally got my knobster working with MSFS2020 and the G1000 bezel using Mobiflight, MANY thanks to all of the hard work that went into getting us this far. Does anyone have a suggestion for me as to why when I change the altitude or heading bugs, they move very unpredictably. For example, with altitude the larger or smaller part of the knobster seem to flip back and forth on changing the bug by 1000ās or 100ās, completely unpredictably. So itās receiving the knobster input, but not responding appropriately. Much appreciation for any help!
Are you using a Honeycomb yoke by any chance?
I am indeedā¦
Also, I now think you are psychic!
Itās a known bug. Itās the āalways onā switches on the Honeycomb that cause it. They said in the last Q&A it would be fixed in this update, but now weāre told it will be fixed in the next update. Until then, thereās really no way to fix that which doesnāt involve buying FSUIPC7 (free version wonāt do it), using another free program and reprogramming your yoke.
Ahhh gotcha, I had seen some reference to that previously with using the mouse to change the heading bug early on, that seems better, but sounds like the honeycomb is still interfering with this. Thanks very much, was figuring I had done something wrong. Iāll try to be patient
Iām lucky that I have the Logitech switch panel. Alpha switches just replicate those, so I donāt really need them. It was easy for me to disable them. Iād still like to repurpose my Alpha switches for other stuff though. Until Asobo gets this stupid bug fixed, we just have to wait.
I had to read that again. I thought Winmaxit support was being superb but then I re-read that you figured it out with a engineer friend.
I suspect this is why I canāt get it to work with my USB-C on my desktop, but it works with the Thunderbolt 3 port on my laptop. It works great with a USB-C for power and data and HDMI for video though.
On a side note, I received my USB to dual HDMI adapter. Works like a charm.
Iām surprised it can be powered through a hub. It must use a lot of juice. So you are using a usb-c to usb-c for power and data? Iāll probably use the power adapter (I think it comes with one) and use another cable for touch.
The USB-C is directly from my computerās rear USB-C port to the monitor. Thatās providing power + data. My dual HDMI adapter is plugged into my hub and the monitorās HDMI is plugged into that.
Iām powering my Monitor Via a USB Hub that rates all the ports to deliver 2.1 amps peask. 1800MA Continuous. The Wiimaxit draws 780Ma continuous and the new 4K display draws 1250MA.
So many Displays
My hub is industrial grade. Also rates all 10 of my data ports at 2.1A with a power supply pushing 10A. I think I need to pick up a USB-C to USB 3 Type A to see if my hub can provide enough juice to my monitor. It would be 1 less cable for me to deal with when moving my cockpit.
Can touch on the Winmaxit monitors be connected via either a usb-a cable or a usb-c cable? I know you need a usb-c cable for power but if you donāt have a usb-c hub, can you just use a usb-a cable for touch? Iām trying to figure out the best way to set it up. I want to be able to move between a laptop and desktop so some kind of hub is probably beneficial.
There are 2 USB-C ports and 1 USB Type B Mini. The Mini can only handle data. One Type C is power only, and the other can do all 3 in one port - power, data, and video.
In theory, you should be able to use a USB 3.1 Type A from a hub to USB-C on the monitor for both power and data, assuming your hub can provide the power. Iām not sure if that could handle video or not. I unfortunately donāt have one of those cables available to test it out atm.
Does the power adapter for the Winmaxit have a USB-C connection or a USB-A connection? If itās usb-c, I can use the usb-c to usb-c cable for power and the usb-c to usb-a for data, and hdmi-hdmi for video. Otherwise, I may have to buy some more cables.
Edit- The amazon description states these cables are included.
You know what, I didnāt even unpack the power adapter and cord since I didnāt need them. Lol. Iāll go dig up the box and check it out tomorrow.
