Good call. I wouldn’t trust SLAVX mounts if not securely attached to something. Don’t get me wrong, they’re awesome quality and well designed and I have absolutely zero remorse from buying them. But they’re designed to be screwed down to a solid surface - be it a yoke or table top. The potential to tip and smash the attached monitor is just too high for me.
Yep they are easy to touch and you can resize the Bezel to make it bigger or smaller to fit your preferences.
I am really glad I purchased the 4K touch display. Technically this display is more modern and a better implementation of the Displayport USB-C port + the HDR is superb. I have my screen scaling set to 200% for most work, meaning it is essentially a 1080P display but it is so crisp compared to the Wimaxit. That said it is twice to cost of a Wimaxit. For my needs this is perfect.
It sounds nice but I didn’t want to lay out the money for two 4K displays. I hope the Winmaxit 1080p ones are sharp enough. 1080p should be adequate for a 15” display.
Having tested with the Wimaxit monitor for a couple of weeks before returning it I can say they are more than good enough for the G1000 and G3000!
I’m contemplating a custom UI to allow me to fit both the PFD and MFD on a single4K screen. This will involve taking the Knob Strips Left and right moving them below the PFD and MFD screens. This will allow the panels to be larger so that the Softkeys are not squashed and I can strip out duplicate knobs. I will easily be able to point to the knobs and use my Knobsters (yeah plural). The Purists are sure to hate it but I am all about making what I have as functionally efficient as possible.
I concur. Everything fits how it’s supposed to with the G1000. I like that running the bezel at full 1080 height actually produces a life-size 10" screen for the displays. It gives me room on the PFD monitor to run the audio panel on the right side, and on the MFD screen, I’ll run my backup instruments on the right side of the bezel. Then I place my physical like parking brakes, flap indicator, trim indicator, cowl flap indicator, etc on my iPad on the side. It’s great.
I look forward to when Asobo correctly implement touch control so I can also use the G3000 touch screen on my iPad. I have the AM bezel for it and the knobs and buttons work. Just can’t use the touch functionality atm, which is a shame.
Did you see that Asobo Delayed their G1000 / 3000 update to end of year? I was barely whelmed with the changes they did implement but given the work has been turned over to Working Title I have high hopes for some really great integration.
It’s a double edge sword. I look forward to said release as well. Hopefully it will include the reworked planner / nav system of the CJ4 as they were intended.
But that means we won’t be seeing anything substantial out of WT in terms of Garmin updates for their mods. The G3000 is in good shape (only really MFD traffic missing). The G1000 hasn’t been updated other than for sim compatibility since early December. It needs work.
That’s not multi monitor support I’m talking about. It’s touch support.
Multi monitor support they’ll be bringing is it so you can set individual camera angles. So if you wanted to set up a home cockpit surrounded by 3 monitors, you can adjust unique camera angles to each, vs using 3 monitors as one large screen where things get distorted as they move out to the edges.
I mean plain old touch support. And you can test what I mean…
Pop out an instrument on your current monitor(s). Now hover your mouse over that pop up instrument leave your cursor there, and try to operate your plane controls via your yoke / stick / pedals, whatever and report back as to what effect that has on the sim. You’ll see what I mean.
And I should add, once you pop out a window, even onto a touch monitor, touch stops working. All touching that monitor / instrument does is give it focus, which then kills all your other plane controls.
However, you can use the cockpit via touch on your main screen if it’s a touch monitor.
Is there a GitHub that XAxSys uses now for his overlays? The first post is a bit old. Also are the instructions there for installing Mobiflight still valid? Thanks!
A question for those with experience using FLC. Can you tell me if you think the Nose up Nose down Commands for FLC are wired up backwards? I Have not dived into it yet but flying last night in the G36, it seemed to be backwards.
[quote=“XAxSys, post:626, topic:348509, full:true”] It has not changed in a while. But I do have some things I’m working on, Possibly an Easter update…

Did you ever perfect the map panning/range function? I know it would be unconventional but it sounded useful.
Monitor controls are via the little wheel on the bottom right corner. Press it in first and that will bring up the menu, and up / down turns navigate, press selects.
