G1000 Autopilot altitude not capturing

When selecting my altitude once autopilot is activate the aircraft continues to climb beyond the selected altitude. Why is this? Am I not doing something right.

The aircraft I’m flying is the Beechcraft Bonanza. Once I select the altitude I then select the VS I want but it never seems to capture my selected altitude.

Could someone please help?
Thanks

I tested two other G1000 equipped aircraft (172 and 208) and both captured the desired altitude with no problems using the same technique you described, and both worked correctly. I tried the Bonanza and while the desired altitude “flashed” at the appropriate time (indicating it was ‘going to capture it’, but then just busted through the desired altitude without stopping.
So it appears something is wrong specifically with the Bonanza, as you noted.

Seems to be hit or miss for me. Works sometimes and other times it just blast through the set altitude.

Given that the above issues immediately disappear after installing the NXi from the marketplace, I’m inclined to believe the G36 is Working Title’s main testbed aircraft for the NXi development and that’s why this slipped through the cracks.

Is the NXi worth downloading to replace the default G1000? I haven’t actually tried it yet.

Also does it work with all the bush trips and landing challenges okay?

I can’t speak to the bush trips, but otherwise I much prefer it to the default G1000, especially since you don’t encounter the pesky “flyback bug” when adding approaches with the NXi.
