G1000 can no longer select radio frequencies or Approaches

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Can no longer select frequencies for ground, tower, etc. or approaches using the MFD FMS knob.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Every time on sim load.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Start the sim Cessna 172 at any airport parking spot.

  2. Start the engine. Ensure Avionics Bus 1 and 2 ON.

  3. Using the MFD, press the FMS dual knob and rotate the Outer Knob clockwise until the NRST menu page is displayed.

  4. Ensure the Nearest Airport menu option is selected. If not, rotate the FMS inner knob (small one) to select.

  5. Press the FMS knob, this action will highlight the top airport on the list (actually flashes).

  6. Using the FMS Inner knob, you use to be able to move the flashing cursor down to the frequencies or the Approaches to select as required.

NOTE: This BUG also occurs in SU5 Beta 2 ver 1.7.7

I don’t know if there was a different logic in prior versions but in order to move the cursor through the different sections, you need to click on the soft keys at the bottom of the MFD:

So IMO there is no bug.

Disappointing that MS/Asobo do not provide detailed documentation/videos to support the aircraft systems as they evolve through the update processes.

Kudos that they continue to update the entire sim!
