Is it me doing something wrong or is the default G1000 limited? If I press FPL it brings up the flight plan but I cant find a way to scroll through the waypoints which is an essential function when there are a lot of waypoints in the plan.
Is it possible to scroll through the waypoints and if so how or is this default version crippled?
its hard to see And to âgrabâ but there is a slider to the right side of the waypoints you can âgrabâ and slide/scroll
no idea why they didnt also tie this to say the mouse wheel for scroll but ⊠thats the only way i have found to say 'activate this leg" or w/e from the flightplan ingame
I think the G1000 does not have any touch screen features. Maybe youâre thinking of the other Garminâs?
I donât use the default, I use the Working Title G1000, but to scroll in the flight plan, you first press the center knob to turn on the cursor, then try to grab and rotate the outer knob to scroll.
Itâs not easy with mouse interactions. I wish they made that interaction model more user friendly.
your right, i was thinking of the G3X
everyone should be using the WorkingTitle mods imo (there is one for the g3x as well but its not in the Store yet, so only on pc)
thanks for the correction
Thatâs what I thought but that doesnt work in the default G1000, pressing the inner knob just doesnât activate the cursor when showing the flight plan. I will try another version of the G1000 I guess.
If you are using Lock mode instead of Legacy mode, you see a light blue highlight when you hover over any knob, switch, or other control. in the cockpit
If that is what you see, then with the G1000 NXI when the FMS small knob is blue, while holding down left-click, right-click to activate scroll mode which is confirmed by one of the waypoints being highlighted. After doing that the FMS large knob is used to scroll through the waypoints.
I use the legacy mode of mouse, and I can scroll the flight plan (on left or right hand screen in the 172 at least), by pushing on the end of the FMS knob to activate the cursor, then scroll up/down using the large FMS knob to change your selection. If you want to go to direct to the selected point you highlight with the cursor, hit the âdirect toâ button to bring up the direct to screen, and hit âentâ key to activate the direct mode.
At any point, pressing the end of the FMS knob again just exits the cursor mode. Pressing FLT Plan button again exits the screen.
