Same for me, made worse by poor eyesight. Thankfully my Honeycomb Bravo yoke arrived two days ago. Using the inbuilt auto pilot panel and reassigning the seven switches below it has made flying a glass cockpit much easier. Although I still have to lock TrackIR after I lean in, to see what my VS speed setting or FLC airspeed setting is.
I’ve grown quite comfortable with the G1000 by now, after a steep learning curve (ironically often in New Guinea which is itself literally a steep learning curve). But I still prefer steam gauges and maybe a baby Garmin for when I just want to let the plane fly while I gawk out the windows.
