G1000 keeps crashing the sim during FPL creation

Hi,

The simulation has crashed twice in a row as I was developing a flight plan in the G1000. Is this bug a known issue and is there a resolution? Will the G1000 functionality(ies) be improved, or are we waiting for third-party developers to provide a more realistic and functional model of the G1000 for this to work at an acceptable level? This is very frustrating for a game that claims that these capabilities are in the sim, when in reality this is broken. Why update the UK now, shouldn’t these broken features be fixed first for the sim to function like a sim?

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

FYI, the moderators are a bit strict on posting in the Bugs & Issues section, as per the site rules, so you should search all the other sections of the forum that may pertain to your issue before you post here.
This section of the forum is for proven bugs that you can’t find a solution elsewhere on the forum or aren’t already in this section. (If they are, vote them up!)

A search would reveal it is the top item on the list.

A lot of the reason things get added rather than things fixed is that there are different teams working on them.

Cool, thanks for letting me know about this “cogent” restriction. Where exactly do I find the rule that prohibits customers from posting questions on bugs? Please, point me to it. I do not follow. . . . Flight plans systems are broken, and we as customer should be able to report these issues without fear of being censored. If you point me to the rule that specifically prohibits these types of legitimate concerns then I will no longer post them. I am posting on my behalf as a customer.

And by the way, my post was not only limited to the G1000, it was also a suggestion to fix what they know is broken before continuing to load unnecessary scenarios. Why is this a problem? Is this an open forum, or are we restricted here? Are you a Microsoft employee? What is your role, here?

Sure, it is right on the index page. See the “Bugs & Issues” heading.
Here is the quote.

"This section is dedicated to bugs & issues for the core sim (not mods or 3rd party content) – Utilize the voting system and only post if you do not see your bug listed. Please post one bug per topic and don’t forget to report bugs officially to Zendesk."e

I might also suggest you read the forum rules, code of conduct, etc.
It is covered in there in a several different spots.

No one is trying to stop you from posting, not in the least.
Everyone wants this sim to work.
Folks like me are actually trying to help folks like you.

Just not in this section, unless it is a proven bug that you can’t find a solution to, elsewhere in the forum, or if you can’t find a solution there, then check here.
If it isn’t already here, then yes by all means. Do the following as per the rules above.
Make a Zendesk support ticket, then add your post here so the issue can be voted on.

If not just keep posting in this section.
The moderators will most probably lock your post.
A search in this section would reveal that most times, unless they miss it, that is what happens.
You are welcome for my time.
At least I tried to help.

Ok, thank you. When I looked at what you describe, I was directed to a couple of links with a bunch of articles. I didn’t see any article where anyone discusses the broken flight plan system and Microsoft’s plans to fix it. I am fine with following any rule, as long as it is clear where to go and where to look and it’s evidently not. There is no mention of the feedback top wishes page that you pasted in your reply to me. Moderators may remove me or anybody else if they wish, but if they do not clarify exaclty what is where on this forum, then we’re just guessing here… Not a nice welcome experience.

Sorry about that, it was the least of my intents.
I just don’t like folks that take the time to post here, get their post unanswered or closed.
Like a lot of bigger forums, this site has it codes of conduct.
Yes, there is a LOT of reading when you want to go through them.

I was (boy that didn’t work well) trying to point out that in the top bugs list, it is the #1 item, with a release date with Sim Update 3. That Update is scheduled for early March.

The no-follow a flight plan is a whole different issue.
That has to do with the way the sim plots a waypoint which doesn’t have all the data MSFS requires.
That too, is supposed(?) to be solved with that update, but that comes from posters in here.
