G1000 planes are performance disaster

I am happy with performance in MSFS. Flying in any GA plane is great experience and smooth most of times. BUT any plane with those fancy G1000 displays are stutters feast. Is this just me or they are horribly optimized ? HELP

Hi,

I don’t experience problems related to the G1000 - at least not stutters.
Did you try loading up different scenarios, say a crowded place like a major city and something like NGTA - it’s an airport in Kiribati, mostly water around it and loads up extremely quick on my end.

This might give us a bit more info to try and help. Also, I’d be grateful if you could list your computer specs (processor, ram, graphics card, display resolution).

Hi,

Thank you for your input.
The thing is that in any scenario if i use any GA plane that dosnt have these displays like C152 or Zlin savage cub, i got a smooth experience. Once going to C172 G1000 or any other GA that got them stutters comes.
My specs are: I7 5820K@ 4.4, RTX2070 ( a little OC), SSD, 48GB RAM 2400mhz. 1080 resolution.

Thanks for the additional info and the specs, for comparison I’m running an i7-6700K, RTX2070S, 32Gb 3200 at 1440p, all at stock speeds, playing at high/ultra without stutters - I’d expect more or less the same experience with the hardware you mention.
I remember having some stutter issues but it had to do with loading scenery, that’s why I suggested trying some ‘light’ areas.

I’ll run some tasts as soon as I get back and see if I notice any spike in resource usage between a gauge cockpit and a G1000, in the meantime I hope someone can chime in.

Common thread with all these kind of performance posts seems to be CPU. Seems like anything below i7-6 series and the simulation / main thread isn’t coping.

OK than how come with any other plane there is no issue ? Smooth performance even in New York with clouds. Trust if i would get terrible stutters in all the aircrafts i would agree on the CPU and by tomorrow i would get an I9.

Hi again and sorry for the late reply.

I’ve been doing some testing last night and I still don’t get any stutters on GA planes, the only ones that seem to require more horsepower are the airliners - those create some stutters, mostly on load and then it’s generally ok.

I know for a fact you aren’t the only one with the issue and just found this, hopefully it will be of some help:

Hey,

Yes it seems that we are having the same issue. Not sure why it’s very irregular between setups (I have a 9700k and RX5700XT, I thought was an AMD thing but it seems not…). Maybe it’s linked to a specific library, really strange…

Let me know if it works for you!

That actually improved it quite a bit ! Thank you ! I knew the optimizations sucks.
