Can someone please tell me if there is a way to manually insert a holding pattern into a flight plan in the G3000 like you can do with the G1000nxi?

Nope. Missed Approach legs pre-loading and availability coming with the G3000 brought up to NXi standards later this year. That will also help you on XBox because it’s a Marketplace add-on by Working Title.
Not clear. Are you saying that the ability to add a HOLD to a Waypoint is in scope of what NXi is working on? Missed approach procedures (and associated HOLDs) are a separate item from assigning a HOLD to a waypoint in a flight plan.
This is fundamental to flying on live ATC networks, considering the workload of individuals flying dual-pilot aircraft as a single pilot operation.
