G36 Improvement Project

Anyone else with this airplane having problems in SU9?

  • Audio cuts out with ATC
  • brakes locked and airplane won’t budge
  • I became the spinning zombie airplane on another launch. Could not control the airplane.

Of course. We all expect problems with every aircraft after an update. Wait for the plane to get updated like the rest of us.

It starts up spinning to the left and shaking hard, no rudder control.

Wait for the update

I was literally on my final leg of flying from Florida to England. The default Bonanza works but it just feels wrong to me.

Hey all,

Sorry slightly behind the curve here; i’m away from my computer at the moment but there is a fix in the dev version for anyone who is interested.

All being well I’ll be back in front of a computer on Sunday to push a release.

First of all, this is an absolutely brilliant project, thanks for all your work improving it and fixing it when Asobo manages to break it every other update or so.

At the risk of sounding stupid, where is the dev version on github? I’m not seeing anything newer than the 0.6.5 from last September, but I’m probably missing something.

Hey

I switched to my own Git Repo as the original project team fell by the wayside. It was easier to maintain and keep developing.

It can be found here GitHub - 50North4West/MSFS-G36-Improvement-Mod: This is the G36 Improvement Mod, (originally started by FrettFs) now hosted and maintained here.

There is a development version which I’m working on at the moment. That has the fix for SU9 and some performance stuff.

Please note: the Bonanaza now uses the new Asobo prop modelling and CFD; the power tables need a lot of work now to bring back to normal. The next release on flightsim.to will have just the SU9 patch - i can continue to work on that once I get back in front of my computer.

I run a youth sailing project in the UK and our boat is in refit so lots of real life stuff happening right now. promise to spend some time on the Bo next week.

Now that I know what the bug is I get such a kick out of it, and I’m impressed by the sim.

Basically, the G36 has thousands of pound of fuel in it. So it either won’t budge or will slide around. Really, the wings should fall off and the airport get flooded with avgas.

Workaround is to reset the fuel in the weight menu. You can then see the suspension respond once the weight is gone.

Thanks, google hit me up with the old repo. I thought that one seemed a little rough.

Where is the boat? I want to add that location to my Florida to Europe trip.

Real life sailing? I love it, I can afford it (I have a 26 footer). Real life flying? Not so much, I have a simulator

Know what you mean; I used to sail dinghies in competitions but after a particularly bad weather event, when I almost got run down in the water by the rescue launch, I migated to something a bit (lot) bigger with G & T on tap!

Hi guys, I have added a livery to the plane. Did the edits for model.cfg and aircraft.cfg (layout.json did not need changing as far as I could tel). The skin does show up under the model but there is something wrong. For starters I get the default interior (brown) and when I start up the avionics I do not get the messange on the PFD ‘bus tied’, fuel flow is also the same as default. So somehow I am not getting the new systems. I have no idea what I did wrong.

Any ideas?

If the livery has a panel folder this may be a problem. Just edit the aircraft.cfg and remove the reference to the panel folder on the panel = line. If you don’t delete the panel folder there will be no need to regenerate the layout.json. MSFS will know its there because of thed etaisl in the layout.json, but will ignore it as its not referenced in the aircraft.cfg.
