G36 Improvement Project

I sent an update to that thread. Let’s keep that convo there.

Okay, found the problem. It’s a liveries issue - need to do some experimenting but with the default livery and your mod I’ve got the crew back.

Our mod  I’ve contributed just a tiny fraction to it.
Glad you got it sorted!

I think this may be a general SU5 issue as I had this issue on one of the Asobo aircraft too, don’t recall one which I’m afraid. And I only use default liveries, I’ve not downloaded any extra ones.

Depending on how far you zoom in / zoom out I think you’ll either see the co-pilot or not.

Sorry to bo a bit vague but I didn’t consider this to be major issue, I just spotted it and moved on.

Frustration! After an hour of testing with different combinations of addons - I can’t reproduce the fault!

Going to put it down to an intermittent bug as TangledBinkie44 says and just get on with the flying!

Chaps I rather lost track here. Is the current G36 mod compatible with the G1000 NXi, or is that currently work in progress?

This mod is fully compatible with the NXi, but the NXi is work in progress.
Make sure to grab the most recent version 0.6.4 of this mod. At the time this version was released, there were some issues but they got resolved by the NXi guys in their update last week. Since then we’re compatible.

Having SU5, the G1000 legacy, the NXi addon and this mod in parallell developments is no wonder one loses track.

The main post and title will be updated as soon as the @FrettFS is available again.

Awesome! thanks to the team for making the G36 such a lovely aircraft.

No engine pages just yet, correct? Or am I doing something wrong?

Last update from WT was the extended engine pages are planned, but they want to get the main NXi systems up and running first.

Ah jolly good, thanks. Just making sure I wasn’t being a twit.

The mod supports the NXi but it’s lacking more than just the engine pages.

For instance you do the engine start with avionics master off, so you see only the PFD, but the PFD currently doesn’t show engine data.

Also things like weather radar not working etc.

But that’s all in the hands of NXi devs and regarding compatibility we of course can’t be sure that we stay compatible with upcoming NXi releases.
So if you face issues that are not present with NXi installed but our mod not installed, please report (best via GitHub).

I love this mod, thank you for the hard work. My fav in sim aircraft.

One question, is there a .config setting I can tweak to keep to prevent the constant left pull (I’m assuming torque) while taxing? I know it might not be realistic but it is frustrating to have to apply right rudder at low rpm. Always tend to over compensate no matter the pedal settings.

I noticed it has a rudder trim setting and the dial is clickable, however it does nothing that I have noticed on the ground.

Anyway, still love it. Great work!

At slow speeds during taxi you shouldn’t get left pull except you have crosswind or your peripherals need to be adjusted in terms of deadzone.

And rudder trim just trims your rudder which basically has no effect during taxi (not enough airflow on the vertical stabilizer). You’re taxiing with the nose gear and/or differential brakes.

Thanks, I have recalibrated the pedals and tried to compensate with slider but no luck.

I kinda figured that was the case with the rudder trim. Was just trying to seek a work around.

Using nose to steer.

Thanks again, I’ll keep working on it.

What’s your speed, manifold pressure and rpm when the left pull sets in during taxi?
Looking down at the pedals and toe brakes in the virtual cockpit, do you see them exactly centered?

Prop in low and minimal rpm. After recal. even with feet off pedals still pulls left.

Ill take a look at physical hardware after work today. Errrrr…work! :expressionless:

I’ll give it a try, maybe compensating for the pull is just so subliminal that I don’t think about since except for no wind scenarios you basically have to compensate for crosswind all the time anyhow.

I really seem like a calibration issue but everything shows normal. I’ll also try a couple of other AC if its there most likely pedals or interface.

Just reloaded the mod this morning.

Thanks again and have a great day sir.

Here’s a (compressed due to forum limitations) video with no rudder/steering input. Giving high throttle input gives a bit of a left tendency but as soon as I reduce throttle to a reasonable taxi input, I barely get any pull to the left, just as expected.

That’s with Clear Skies preset but wind manually set to 0.
