GAIST Global AI Ship Traffic V6 and Great Lakes

Well other than the in-sim addons mentioned I use SPAD.neXt for some hardware controllers, which does use SimConnect, and LorbyAxisAndOhs for connecting a Stream Deck controller, but I don’t know what that uses to connect.

Anyway it seems MSFS can’t cope with it all.

If you’re using AIG, is that injecting ground handling as well as I believe it now can?

I’ve used GAIST in all it’s forms with GSX, FSLTL, FSTraffic, and countless scenery enhancements & 3rd party airports and never had a problem except for when FSTraffic was injecting it’s full suite of ground handling vehicles alongside GSX. Toning that down to something sensible sorted the problem and there is no other issue.

No I never use that feature. It is off.

Something else weird happening since installing GSX. I randomly loose the throttle control, it just stops responding until I restart the sim. All the other buttons etc. on the throttle continue to function correctly and when i go into MSFS settings the mappings are correct and the sliders respond to throttle movement. All very strange. I give up, back to default ground vehicles so that I can start enjoying the sim with boats and planes again lol.

And what about your traffic settings in the menu? What are they set to?

Sorry, I meant in the MSFS settings.

I tried different AIRPORT VEHICLE DENSITY settings including zero, did not seem to help.

Fibre internet isn’t that unusual now.

How is it unusual? Is there anything better? I’m on Hybrid LTE at the moment (DSL+LTE), best average speed 60Mb/sec, max 80. I have just signed up for fibre which may roll out in my neighbourhood in the next 1 to 2 years, but only if enough people sign up for it.

Your mention of AIG ground traffic reminded me of something else. Apart from enabling/disabling it in AIG Traffic Controller there is another setting in the AIG AI Manager app to disable ground traffic which apparently should be selected if using the AIGTC ground traffic option. As I am not using AIGTC ground traffic I thought the AIM setting was irrelevant, but I have selected it anyway and I am now testing again. There seems to be some improvement in stability, I have AIG air traffic ok, but not seeing GAIST shipping yet. Testing continues…

Excellent. Hope you have some joy with it.

May I suggest you can reduce road vehicles to ~30% and won’t notice any real difference. That will undoubtedly help.

this option in AIM will remove default services injected by MSFS for all OCI SimObjects, this can reduce the number of injected SimObjects by a few hundreds at big airports.

For the usage of GAIST and AIG in combination with GSX I suggest:

  1. MSFS sliders all to 0%
  2. Disable services in AIM for OCI airplanes
  3. (optional) Enable services in TC and set the slider to 35-50% (so you will get at least some vehicles at the airport)
  4. Disable ground-clutter in GSX

Thanks for the explanation and advice. Knowledge is a wonderful thing :+1:

Hi everyone. Absolutely love this mod and it’s now on my ‘must-have’ list!

However, I’m not getting any wakes even though I understand there should be. I’ve also tried without any other mods, i.e. just the base sim with GAIST.

However, when I remove GAIST, I DO get wakes on the generic ships and boats of the sim.

I tried looking around for solutions, but couldn’t find any…

Thanks everyone.

I hope you all don’t mind if I bump this earlier question of mine. I still can’t quote figure it out…

Sorry for long absence, but real life issues took over…

I hope to be able to respond to some of the diverse unanswered questions in the next days…

This weekend The Ocean Race passes my birth town Aarhus, so the entire fleet of Ocean Race IMOCAs and VOR racing yachts are now included in the project.

The last boat to reach Aarhus is the Biotherm - she just passed the island of Hjelm in real life and in the simulator

Direct from the Ocean Race Inport today… I still did not have time to change the livery on the Brunel VOR65 but it will be done tomorrow once I have visited the race at the harbor.

This the first time I have tried to follow a sailing regatta live in a flight simulator:

This afternoon it is the IMOCA Class competing in front of Risskov North of Aarhus, Denmark.

Is the real time traffic version already released?
