Nice video
Thank you.
It has been some time - unfortunately health issues in my near family and a lot of other issues has prevented me from even opening the simulator for almost a month… But today I did and had a chance to restart testing the Great Lakes addition.
I finalized this model a month ago but today was first time I got to see her in the simulator - SS Alpena built in 1943 but still going strong in the fresh water - not many ships manage that in salt water.
Impressions from around Mackinaw Island - it isn’t as predictable as I want it to be as some optimization - read throwing out sim objects occur - but there is still plenty of traffic with local ferries and ships.
Great stuff, many thanks for your hard work, much appreciated.
Your usual amazing detail Henrik!
full sends!!!
I found and corrected a couple of mistakes, but I need some different eyes and systems for testing ;so if there is a couple of beta testers who would like this week to fly around over the Great Lakes and take some pictures documenting what they see - please respond in PM. I will be able to share for the testers tomorrow night. If that goes well release of the Great Lakes update could be Friday or Saturday,
I’m flying up the coast from Chicago to Green Bay. I saw some boat/ship traffic around Chicago I have seen no other.

@meh1951 Yes you are missing something. You need the Great Lakes Addon which he is finalizing. It is not part of Gaist Ultra 3.
In keeping with the Great Lakes theme, I get to meet the H. Lee White at 3:00AM tonight in Sandusky, OH to work on the ships service generator main circuit breaker. It’s amazing that they keep these vessels sailing with how little they spend on maintenance.
They are so cheap, apparently they are even hiring clowns to fix their electrics!
I’m so sorry, I just couldn’t help myself after looking at your avatar. I will now see myself out…
The problem for the fleet companies is that this clown…is NOT cheap!
Congratulazioni signore!
And welcome to the forum!!
Did you get a copy of the General Arrangement to be used by modelers ?
Unfortunately no. I do however do quite a bit of work for Rand Logistics, Interlake, and Key Lakes. I am pretty close to the fleet engineers of those companies. Tell me which vessels and I can try to get whatever you wish.
Maybe the USS Niagara should fire a gun salute… Today I will upload the GAIST Great Lakes update. After a frustrating week searching for a mistake, I found it today, and could just realize I should practice cleaning up from time to time… a very simple double entry of a folder costed a week.
But now it is ready with a bunch of new models from the Great Lakes
I will come back once it is becomes available, but that can take some hours from time of upload
