Really epic job with this, Henrik!

Did some looking around Puget Sound, Vancouver, and Victoria. Never found the BC Ferries, but lots of other cool stuff.

And not all the boats are gigantic…

Love the seagulls chasing the fishing boat!

@hnielsen791, I assume this is yours? That was a delightful surprise as I was taxiing out of the harbor.

Just an amazing collection! Did run into a couple of glitches:

It appears the Cape Midori is taking on water… Uh oh!

Also, who knew Barbie had gotten into shipping?

(Also spotted a pink cruise ship near Vancouver, but alas didn’t get a screenshot.)

Still, tiny glitches when this adds thousands of ships. Amazing package!

Thanks a lot for these lovely screenshots

The water taxi though I can’t take credit for - it must be part of another scenery or even a funny detail from the hand of MSFS.

For the Barbie gltiches they are luckily very easy to correct - I reduced the size of the package by around 4GB by sharing textures. Now I might have been too tired late in one evening and done some naming hick-ups. I will get them corrected by the weekend for a version 6.0.1, but please report those you see.
You might even be able to correct it yourself in less time than it takes to download again.

The pink lady near Vancouver is most likely Coastal Inspiration already spotted in the area and reported to me yesterday - it is one of your missing BC ferries  Changing the texture folder name inside AI_Coastal_Renaissance from texture.inspiration to texture and run layout generator will fix it.

The Barbie supertanker is the Saudi Arabian Dorra found in AI_Dorra - she misses norm and comp textures, which can be copied from a sister ship. But before starting to do anything on your own let’s see if more glitches are found. The package contains around 14.000 textures in more than 2000 texture folders…

The heavily loaded Cape Midori I believe is actually a result of an elevated water mesh in the area, where you spotted it. The model is correctly placed compared to the waterline at least at first glance when opening the gltf, but I will look and do a test later in the sim.

Can I ask what governs the speed of the AI ships or whether this has been changed? I had two tankers pass each other at what seemed like a visibly fast rate. It might just be me, but it the speeds seemed higher than I remember it previously.
Not saying they are wrong because say 14kts passing 14kts would be 28kts passing speed which would look quite fast.

No no, not a glitch. Submarines of course! I can see tiny periscopes…when I look very long…

I have to say, this addon is one of the reasons that make me come back to MSFS. It adds tons of immersion to the sim. So thank you for your effort!

Enjoying the update Great work!
One query… is this ship tunnelling beneath the waves at Parkestone Quay in the UK from the package?

I’m using Olmecslayer’s Harwich and Parkestone Quay add on from fligthsim.to so maybe that’s causing it?

Here’s another shot…

This is another example of the water mesh not being flat and AI ships by default in MSFS are put at altitude zero and not at the height of the water mesh. As you can see on the screenshot below the model is perfectly fine, but especially close to the coast and in river mouths the water mesh is having “hills” and “valleys” and this time I put more ships to enter harbors and did not test all the places… It is the same altitude problem which does that we have not made a river traffic and that the Great Lakes add-on needs to be separate.
The reason why the ships behind are fine is that these are static scenery objects placed on the mesh…

I have been notified so far about three Barbie pink ships with texture issues. As they are screaming to the sky, I will release a version 6.0.1 this weekend. Just need to check first that there aren’t anymore. As a small compensation to everybody who already downloaded and became involuntary beta testers, there will be an additional cruise ship in the update.

Thanks, makes perfect sense.

Gotta love naming. You sit there, do advanced stuff perfectly, only to notice that you spell like a 3 year old. Been there so many times.

Hi,

Amazing works. One of the best immersive content for MSFS.

Take care.

By way of follow up… it looks OK without the add-on, I’ll let the developer know…

The pics look very good. Did you add any more lake steamers or lake ferries?

He is a non-native English speaker, eh!

Now that some of the NDA has been lifted, can you talk at all about how GAIST will integrate with FS2024?

no, nothing Henrik or I can talk about at the moment
