I tried installing this mod and followed the settings but when flying I saw no ships or ferries. Is there some wonder setting inside a config file I need to do as I’ve set ships and ferries to 8% in the sim.

Tried 100 procent?

100 % will increase all the Asobo ships. I use ships and ferries at 6% and leisure craft at 100%

I have no problems seeing Henrik’s ships at those settings

Yeah, tried these but no ships.

I am not sure what that means but I threw it into Bing Translate and it came up with a translation from Norwegian to English as ā€œJust come to the bathroom.ā€

Have you tried going somewhere that is very busy with shipping like in the English Channel (FR- La Manche) between Dover and Calais?

No need to mess with config files with this addon. You just need gaist-msfs-V2 in your Community folder.

          certainly not Dutch

Worth a try, thanks

Had the same issues myself. There are places with significant traffic but they seem to be few and far between. Most of the harbors were empty. So in the end l managed to solve my problem by combining both this fantastic mod and vessels global shipping (which increases traffic multiple times).

Guanabara Bay Rio de Janeiro is always filled with ship traffic 24/7.
Spawn at SBRJ or SBGL and look toward either side of the 101 bridge for sea traffic.
If you don’t see any you really do have an installation or configuration problem.
Delete and reinstall the folder and adjust the in sim settings as the PDF manual states.

Can’t wait to see wakes on these babies;

Derping around with the H125 helicopter with AirlandFS, saw something in the distance, decided to check it out. Got this wonderful surprise. Love this mod to bits.

Harbours will always be empty of GAIST ships as only moving ones are added.

Good point and I’ll admit I wasn’t aware of that. However I didn’t mean to talk about harbors only, but also about the generic port area (ie. a 2-5km radius). There are plenty of big and small harbors, shipyards and anchorage areas relatively close to where I live, and it pains me when I drive there and see dozens of ships of all sizes and types happily floating or travelling around a vast area, whereas in MSFS there may be just 1 or 2.

I often compare sites with realtime marine traffic with what I’m seeing in the game or even Little Navmap (which can show the broader area) and the difference is night and day. Perhaps it doesn’t matter as much if you’re flying low and enjoying the fantastic detail of Global mod’s ships, but if you’re at FL100 and see empty seas it’s a different story.

ps: I’ll check Guanabara Bay to see how traffic looks.

Really looking forward to the new release!

Nice scenery :+1:

Is that default Standard MSFS or an addon?

As I said GAIST only includes moving ships. Those at anchorage aren’t moving, so they don’t show.

That’s PauloRicardo’s Santos Dumont addon.
Its the most beautiful scenery I’ve experienced thus far, can always expect quality with his sceneries.:beers:
