Not yet, but I have got the model from Manfred, but it might first be in next round - we have had some issues with some of the models done in Sketchup model
The Shandong Da De below however did not give problems… it is done with a design software from last century so it is nicely low poly
My crystal ball has failed several times, but it is progressing fast and I now have a full set of working wakes - there are things I would like to do better, but having a base set of wakes in different sizes the wakes can be replaced later in a very simple update.
Wow, these wakes, lights and other effects really look stunning! Good job to the whole team! Finally one has not to guess anymore if a vessel is actually moving or not (without using LNV ofc!)
Not much if any, but I am preparing a test with high density of ships with effects, because having a few ships at the same time out at sea doesn’t really make the deal. The maximum I have had together so far are six - the draw distance is 14 kilometres in order for them to be noticable not just on low level VFR. The 14 kilometres is again a compromise - I would say that I have been able to observe wakes from maybe 20 kilometres in real life flight, but I could suspect that increasing the distance to match that would make an impact eg over the English Channel…
And also an ex-biggest in the world Container ship - if you look closely you might see the exhaust coming out of the stern and not the chimney, which is why i have to test all the ships…
What take most time is to test everything so I prefer to do in one go - and then you have something which looks more conform - more than 300 ships already got lights and especially on some bigger colored ships you notice quite a difference between those just having texture based light and those having effects even when looking from a distance. For the smaller ships it doesn’t matter so they will have to wait…
All the New York ferries will be updated with light effects… Actually most of them already got it -just the Rockaway is waiting as I want to add spray also
Does the direction of funnel smoke follow the wind vector between the ships heading and speed and the direction and velocity of the wind? Just curios to know, and it is a very minor point. Anyone seeing those pictures would be forgiven for thinking they were real life photos if they did not know better.
Not yet, which is also why it is a relatively short smoke effect that I use - it is very simple to replace an effect once the correct attach point has been created on the model and in the corresponding xml file. I can in one go change all the instances of a specific smoke file across the entire fleet so I will return to that optimization later - not to let @anon90319164 wait too long for his fillet mignon…
