I checked the directory path is exactly the same.

i wonder if MDL’s messed up again

seems some of mods work, just not the ship mod anymore and my real traffic mod
these are mods that use MDL.

What do you mean by uses mdl? There are no mdl in Global AI Ship Traffic and it works perfectly fine after the update. It seems something has gone wrong in your reinstall/update.

I’m not sure but I think he is talking about some mods he created for himself. He has been popping up on the AIG Discord asking the same questions. Nothing to do with AIG or GAIST it seems.

My son was a 10 year old boy when I started doing the first ships so the simulator’s oceans would not be completely empty when I was flying with him to show him the places I visited with my job. Now he is a young man.

Yes, it seems GAIST doesn’t use MDL’s anymore. I believe 2 years ago , the add on did. My add on for planes(FSX models) uses MDL. Therefore , it seems the problem is bigger than I thought. However, my other ad ons that add bridges,etc work, so the main question is what do FSX add on and GAIST have in common?

Was a new interface option added that couold cause/fix this issue?

BTW , my understanding is AIG is or will be affected by SU 12 because there are some BETA issues, but that has nothing to do with me.

Until problem is fixed I am ‘out’ of the sim because I will not re install windows at this time , especially since I don’t know what is causing this new problem. I have re installed sim 3 times in last 48 hours.

p.s. I ask publicfly because I did a system restore point and re installed a few days ago the sim because of the ‘error’ on launching issue, but it seems it was because of Asobo/X BOX and others had the same issue. If I knew it was a server issue I could do nothing.

I am getting some strange artifacts from a distance around some ships. Any clue why?

Btw: still one of the greatest mods ever. These ships are actually sailing onto the cannel.

There is no new GAIST available at this point - the Version 3 was launched in December and works fine both before and after the latest sim update - there is nothing from AIG at all in the GAIST V3 which is out in public. When we talk about AIG it is only shared among Beta testers at this point.
With GAIST V3 you need to take the precautions mentioned both here in the thread and on the site where you downloaded from regards to the route files. Don’t install all the route folders if you don’t need them all at the same time (which nobody really does) or if you have had issues. I and many others run with all installed without problems, but some had issues with the number of bgl files which made us split the routes into individual folders so users can use according to their individual needs and system limitations.

From a different angle as well.

Can you go closer to the ship and see which ship it is - difficult to see from the distance and it appears not to have a name which all mine have. Yesterday a similar issue for default ships was reported in the bug section. It seems to appear from the wake and not the model, and I did not see it on any of my ships after the update, but mine do not use the default wake.

These shadows are not due to the mod. They appear in vanilla 30.12 with no mods and no updates whatsoever.

Thanks - am I correct that they come from the effect? And @TFEV1909 I would still very much like to know if it is a default or one of my ships.

Broken ship wake makes the most sense. I am wondering if it’s related to live weather and high winds. I’ll see if I can narrow it down in the next few days. It’s not consistent.

Thanks for investigating. It is in fact a default model, so it is something with the default wake files.
