Okay my Xbox controller is pulling way to the right. Going left rudder does almost nothing. Is there any way to reset the controller calibration? Or even set the calibration at all? Cannot fly anything. Was fine before the 40th anniversary update with no changes by me. Tried it wireless and plugged in both. Updated the firmware as well. Can calibration even be done in Windows 11 any more?
Some self-diagnosing… Found you can load your joystick calibration by hitting the Windows key and typing joy.cpl Did a full calibration.. still the same.. I can take off in helo. Push forward on the stick, nose down moving forward. As I do the tail starts to turn to the left, try to compensate with rudder (left Trigger) and I get very little movement. Yet hitting right trigger sends me into an uncontrollable spin. Then the Engine pops and throttle becomes unresponsive and down we go. This stick works fine for everything else. (also, it’s brand new) Going to try a different game pad now. Will post my findings.
I have a Logitech yoke and I find that every time I boot up my PC the yoke’s calibrations are always way off (I also check via joy.cpl). One thing I found that seems to reset it without mucking about aligning those little arrow head things with the red lines, is simply to unplug my yoke once the PC is up and running. I wait for the little disconnect chime and then plug it back in again. This always resets it correctly for me. Not sure if this helps you.
Well, I am going to try that next for sure and report back, thank you.
I just tried to set my assists to Medium and turn off Rotor assist and Cyclic Assist as I actually do know how to fly a Helicopter. But, when I do this the chopper spins out of control to the right. No amount of stick or trigger fixes it or even slows it. Something is really messed up. Will try the plug/unplug method next, as well as a new (old) gamepad.
Welp, tried the unplug method, nope. Tried another gamepad, nope. This is definitely a bug. With Tail Rotor assist on I should be able to hands off hover with no rotation. Then rotate at will right and left with equal thrust using triggers. But no. Right trigger acts like a turbo RIGHT Rotor and and Left acts like a biplane on quaaludes. It moves the chopper ever so slightly to the left and rolls it over to the right. You cannot bank to the left at all and when you try to bank right it rolls you. Right now game pad use is borked badly.
Just got this game and i played 2 session and all was fine and then all of a sudden it started spinning around and when flying forward it trys to tilt up with out me pressing any of the controls also when powering down the engines i cant power up again till ive hit the ground
I stopped playing the sim completely. Prefer to play stuff that actually works.
Yah I’m so annoyed was enjoying it too. Looking in to xplane 12
I have been having issues for well over a month now as well. I absolutely can NOT fly at all using my preferred gamepad of choice - the same gamepad that has been working just fin for the last few years in the sim. Whatever they did with the latest few updates has COMPLETELY broken the gamepad support. I have spent a very long time even trying to create my new profiles from scratch, but it gets overridden by the latest defaults. I would like to have the original gamepad defaults restored in the sim if I am to continue trying to use this at all. Right now, I can not fly. All the money I spent in this sim and Im just unable to fly and its unclear if the next update will even fix the issue. Great customer service and support for a AAA Flight sim, am I right? We must wait months between fixes, its so lame.
