Game corrupted, required "reinstall", 150gb deleted

When I tried to open MSFS 2020 today nothing happened. I tried many times. I finally opened the Microsoft Store and the button said “reinstall” because the game was “corrupted”. I clicked “reinstall” and now all 150gb+ of content is gone. I have a very slow connection and it will take another week of using 100% of my connection to download the game again. Why did this happen? How can I prevent this from happening?

I had the same ………

I’ve had the same before, not sure what caused it.

Out of interest if the download is going to take a week how does the sim cope with streaming the scenery on your connection?

It’s preferred you use a Disk Imaging tools. I use R-drive Image ™ for My Windows 10 64. That if I had any crash in my system I easily can restore my window and my entire data to the last state before I made the image. Yes you can make a huge image file but it’s also better you make it on an external drive. This will save your time and effort much more than re-installing MS FS 2020 or Windows.

It’s constantly interrupting my fight to tell me the bandwidth is too low to stream.

lol I had the same issue last major update, I managed to copy the old packages in the folder from my previous install, then put them in the same place when starting the re-install to avoid the 120gb download again - nightmare! its like a lottery each update
