Good morning.
Since the latest hotfix.
My game now randomly crashes without warning.
More so when flying the 747.
Another thing is that the add on airbus a320neo (does not display at all now).
I select the plane, create a flight, get on the runway… No plane to be seen
.
I’m going to lay off playing it, until things get more stable.
Up until recently, I have had no issues whatsoever.
Intel i9 10900 kf
Palit 3090 gamingpro
32gb system ram
Windows 11
Windows 11? They are having problems getting it to work right with Windows 10. Would not have switched to 11 yet. I will await until next year when all the Window 11 bugs are fixed.
I haven’t had any problems at all with windows 11.
Even on Microsoft flight simulator.
Everything else runs absolutely Bob on

If your system is overclocked then drop the OC down a bit.
Did you do an upgrade to Win11 or do a factory fresh install? Fresh install is always the better idea.
Thanks.
The bios is set with one of gigabyte preset oc modes. Though I have capped the vcore voltage to 1.38v.
To prevent the wild vcore voltages that auto provides.
They pc has been 100 percent stable, in every single application , and has never gone over 83 degrees on two cores only, under high stress test. I am using an aio 360 water cooler, with a massive Thermaltake x71 case.
But I suppose that I could load bios defaults and try it again. It wouldn’t hurt.
I upgraded to Windows 11 through Microsoft.
I really don’t fancy re installing through an iso image, and having to go the the hassle of putting everything back on to a fresh install.
Not for the sake of flight simulator 2020.
Not when absolutely everything else works absolutely flawless.
Graphics card is not overclocked.
Oh ok, understandable since you said everything else is working fine. You got a powerful system. Just for the sake of testing drop the clock speed down a bit you can always bump it back up again. Use the game for a couple days on the lower speed and see how it goes.
I was getting CTD at 3.8Ghz and after taking it down to 3.5 I havent got a single one. Not one. The first and only CTD was in May this year when I bought the game. First tip I found was that it does not like an OC’d CPU.
I have try anything but still it crashes after flights.
One hour two hours three hours or longer it doesnt matter.
And always when you are to begin the approach.
For a game like this the devs must be in a deeply shame.
Its the only game who has this on mjy pc.
My system is ok.
I started in the save mode a flight was ok .
I put all the third party stuf and mods out of it.
But even then there was another crash straigth to the desktop.
Very frustrating when you spend your whole day on a flight.
But for now im finished with this much too expensive ■■■■ game.
MFS2020 cause always trouble from the start last year and now we are one yaer further and its still ■■■■!!!
And thats for the 119 euro a crime!!!
And no i dont wanna change clock speeds and other things because every game is working fine only MFS 2020 NOT!!!
I am not having any trouble with MSFS on Windows 11.
As a note, I DO NOT have anything in my community folder.
I have ZERO Mods and Addons.
I totally agree with you there…
It happens more on the approach
Then there is no point posting here as you seem unwilling to follow general advice given to users having CTD issues.
You may be on your own with this in that case.
I have random ctd issue too. I just used fbw a320nx addons.
Alone with a lot players who have the same problems but dont wanna be ict people and just play this game.
Then you have made your choice. I wish you luck.
Have you tried taking your mod for the A320 out of the community folder and re-installing a clean copy of it. I had problems with the Longitude mod by the working title group after the hotfix; I did a clean install of the mod itself and the problems resolved themselves. Have had four successful runs now where before it was crashing about an hour in.
I de clocked it last night, and tried again.
Inside the cockpit wasn’t quite as smooth.
Then low and behold…
Crash.

.
So I have applied my overclock again.
I will be patient.
Plenty of other games to play.
I’m looking forward to the dx12 update
I took the a320 out of my community folder.
Then it worked

.
I don’t understand how that is, but It now works (even though it is no longer in my community folder).
Cheers.
Yep. I have random crashes now too, at high frequency, since the hot-“fix”. Rarely had crashes before (I think that one time after SU2 or 3, the game was also generally unplayable). Sad story. Will have to wait for another SU I guess…
I think I’ve been lucky. I’ve not had a single crash since WU6 was released, or the hotfix. Inevitably it’s only a matter of time, and for me at least they would be really random. I keep a pretty lean build as far as the sim is concerned. I never went in for hundreds of liveries, and stuck to a few of the “essentials” addons, like GPS mods, others to make planes better such as the C208-mod, and also use an addon linker, but have a pretty stable set of addons that I don’t tinker with much most of the time.
My gut feeling is that in some cases there is a general reluctance to admit that there is something about the individuals setup that is triggering this. If there were general problems with the sim, fundamental issues, then I would have them too. I know I can trigger them if I install the right combination of addons, and fly the right plane, and so I avoid that combination, and I remain unaffected.
If a conversation starts with “I shouldn’t have to do this”, or “I want to fly, not become an IT professional”, then the battle has been lost before it even started. Cut everything away, no addons whatsoever, establish a baseline of stability, and then build on that.
I’ve lost count of the number of threads I’ve seen where the process starts of with something like “The sim is broken, and I want my money back”, which as the person is engaged with, and a logical fault finding procedure is followed, it inevitably turns out to be a conflicting scenery addon, or livery pack, and the like. A common one is “the planes are broken” turning out to be using the Legacy flight model, instead of Modern.
Me too. I generally only use proven and stable mods and those essential so the game feels somewhat like a simulator.
No mods to the core files or even config files, for example.
Without those base line aircraft mods, the game is too much like an arcade and not worth playing for me.
But yeah, since WU6 hot fix, something isn’t stable anymore. And I’m too lazy to go debug for hours. (I am a software dev during my day job, so debugging is work and not something I really enjoy in my spare time).
I will just wait and in a few months, the sim / game will be completely different from what it is today anyway…
