Brief description of the issue:

Whenever I go to a different window while running MSFS and then return to MSFS, the game is completely unresponsive. I’m clicking the icon in my taskbar to try to get back into the game, but it opens for a split second and goes back to my previous window.

I had a similar problem.
I have improved by setting the nVidia driver to 526.98.

AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Mem 32GB
GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER
MSFS is running in DX11 in Full Screen mode.
